Heads up: Horizon Forbidden West available for Preorder on Amazon: PS5 - PS4 (affiliate link)

You just got yourself a new Playstation Vita, and are looking for a Custom Firmware solution? Then bookmark this page, as it will be kept up to date with the latest, greatest, and simplest solutions available.

PS Vita 3.71/3.72/3.73 (h-encore² and Modoru 2.1)

Firmwares 3.71/3.72/3.73 are hacked with the h-encore² exploit. You can also downgrade those firmwares with Modoru 2.1, for example to 3.65, or 3.60, in order to get the benefits of firmwares that have better hack/homebrew support (3.60 in particular)

PS Vita 3.69/3.70 (Trinity exploit)

Firmwares 3.69/3.70 can be hacked with the Trinity exploit.

PS Vita 3.65/3.67/3.68 Exploit (h-encore)

H-encore is a full native Jailbreak for Vita firmwares 3.65, 3.67, and 3.68. Details on how to install and run it can be found on our release article here.

If you have a PS Vita running firmwares 3.61 or 3.63, you will want to update it to 3.65, 3.67 or 3.68 before running h-encore.

If you own a PS Vita on firmware 3.60, we still recommend to stay on firmware 3.60 and run Enso/Henkaku as described below.

PS Vita 3.60 Hack (HENkaku)

HENkaku is the Homebrew Enabler for PS Vita 3.60, and one of the easiest way to hack your PS Vita, provided you’re on firmware 3.60. HENkaku lets you run Native Vita homebrews, as well as PSP homebrews through VHBL. See the following resources to install it and get started:

VitaDoom on HENkaku

VitaDoom on HENkaku

Vita Hacks on Lower Firmwares (3.5x and below)

If your PS Vita is running on firmware 3.57 or lower, you can manually update it to firmware 3.60 in order to run the HENkaku hack. Beware to not use Sony’s automated update system, as it will update your PS Vita to the latest official firmware, which is not compatible with HENkaku. How to update your PS Vita manually to firmware 3.60.

There exist other hacks for lower PS Vita firmwares, but at this point we simply recommend you update to 3.60 as explained in the paragraph above, as pretty much everything that used to be possible on lower firmwares (including PSP homebrews and backups) is now doable on Firmware 3.60.

PS Vita Hack history

Historically, “PS Vita” hacks were limited to PSP hacks running within the PSP emulator on the console. Many hacks required you to purchase an “exploitable” game on the PSN when it gets announced. In 2012 alone, 8 such game exploits were released. In 2014, more than 50 were announced. In 2015, several vita exploit games were announced for firmware 3.36. We regularly announced names of new exploitable games on this blog, but this trend has pretty much stopped with the HENkaku release on firmware 3.60.

  9. Fabio says:

After having downgraded from 3.61 to 3.60, psvita no longer recognizes the memory card.
How do I install henkaku without a memory card?

  10. Povka says:

I ordered a PSTV a few days ago. It’s used. It may even come in newer than 3.60 firmware, but just in case it doesn’t I’m interested in this hack.
Can I connect to PSN and use trophy sync, PS Store etc. (I know someone said something about spoofing, but I don’t get it)
It would be nice to play pirated games, use USB instead of memory card and get trophies for my PSN ACC as well, but if Sony bans people for that…
Is it safe? I want an honest answer (if some of you have used hack online for at least half year and not banned than that’s good enough for me)

    • KingRevoker says:

It’s complicated, but you will not be able to download/play your PURCHASED vita games, the consoles are deactivated if not on latest firmware forcing you to use pirated games. Several other aspects are also bunk with a deactivated console. I believe this is going to be temporary and that they are working on getting around this, but it is still an issue. To answer your question, I have used henkaku since day 1 and have not been banned.

    • Jeffrey Walker says:

I wouldn’t go online especially if u have alot of trophies, I don’t care wut people say. I got banned 5-6 years ago & I’m still heated about it. Now I’m a Xbox one x person now.. ps tag jkilla19713(banned account) jkilla19711 working ps gamertag. jkilla19713 Xbox gamertag hit me

does anyone know why 3.65enso will disable after restore system

enso can be made your vita permanently hacked is as known to everyone. my vita is 3.65henkaku enso as well, even if i format it or switch another psn account. the enso is activation as before.
but some guy said that his vita is 3.65henkaku enso. but it will disable after restore system.

his vita’s hacking procedure is as follows
1: resign h-encore with his psn account. then upload it into memorycard via qcma.
2: open h-encore hacking . after that download enso.vpk from theofficialflow’s and installation as usual.
the problem is vita’s opening logo display enso symbol but the system information is 3.65 henkaku without “O”
actually this vita needn’t to run h-encore after reboot. all games and apps can working well. it means henkaku is taking effect.

it’s so weird that if this vita restore system. the henkaku is disable working. it become 3.65 OFW . luckily. this guy backup h-encore in another official memorycard and delete id.dat as well. so replace this MC could hacking rapidly without login PSN and via qcma.

i was curious about it and had compared with 2 different vita’s root files between 3.65henkaku enso and 3.68henkaku.
it’s amazing that there is a “tai” folder include hacking files under vs0’s partition device in 3.65henkaku enso. but that guy’s 3.65henkaku enso not be found. it’s the same as 3.68henkaku
so i assume that is the reason why his vita’s 3.65enso couldn’t be working after restore system but mine is good .

does anyone can explain or solve this problem?
i am not sure whether i could copy this folder to another vita’s vs0 will not make it be brick.
