Installing PKG files to ANY PSVita on ANY Firmware Version

Post by ChelseaFantasy »

- Requirements:
-Your PSVita/PSTV (any firmware works)
-A friend with an OFW 3.20 or lower PSVita/PSTV
-All the files in this package (103kb): http://www93.zippyshare.com/v/V4J9jRrR/file.html
-Mozilla Thunderbird: https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/thunderbird/
-QCMA
-Any Hex editor

The person with a 3.20+ PSV will be referenced as "you" in this tutorial.
The person with a 3.20 or lower PSV will be referenced as "your friend".
I will also assume you and your friend are both in the same place using both the same computer.

- Preparatives (skip this if your friend already set-up the mailwriter exploit on his PSVita):
First of all, you need to set-up the mailwriter exploit on your friend's PSV.
Forward "HWC-Mailwriter_Setup.eml" to your friend's PSVita's email address.
Open your friend's mail application and there should be the message you just sent.
Click on the message and then click on the attachment.
A "Could not display this image" message will pop-up. DON'T CLICK ON THE "OK" BUTTON! Just press the PS button and close the email app.
Now open the email application and set-up your email account.

- Getting your CMA ID:
The easier way to know your ID is by making a backup to any application/game you have in your PSVita.
Your CMA ID will be here: "C:\Users\YourUser\PS Vita\APP\--CMA-ID--\PCSX#####\" and it will looks like 0a1b2c3d4e5f6789 (it is 16 characters long)

- Dumping your friend's registry:
Forward "HWC-Dump_PSV_Reg.eml" to your friend's PSVita's email address.
Open your friend's mail application, then open the message and click "Dump system.dreg"
Now you should be on the "Create Message" screen. Send the message to a email acount of yours, and then click "Send". The email application should close itelf. Open it again and do the same steps, but now for "Dump system.ireg"
Make sure to backup these files in a safe place, so when we finish this your friend can have his "original" registry back.

- Editing your friend's registry:
Forward "Memoy Card Swapper.eml" to your friend's PSVita's email address.
As always, run the mail app, open the email and open the attacment. DO NOT CLICK OK, just close the mail app instead.
Reboot your friends PSVita.
Take the two files you dumped ("system.dreg" and "system.ireg") and save them in a new folder.
Paste "fixreg_vita.exe" on that folder.
Run "fixreg_vita.exe" once.
Open "system.dreg" in a hex editor of your choice.
Search for "privacy_confirmation".
Near to "privacy_confirmation" should be your friends CMA ID
check this picture for an example:
Image
Replace your friend's CMA ID with your own CMA ID and click "Save"
Run "fixreg_vita.exe" again.
Now write a new email and attach the "system_.dreg"
Rename that attachment from system_.dreg to #0
The mail's subject must be "vd0:registry/system.dreg" (without quotes)
Send that email to your friend's PSVita's email account.
On your friend's PSVita, run the mail app, then open the mail you just sent.
Click on the attachment and DO NOT CLICK THE ERROR MESSAGE, press "PS" instead and close the email application.

- Installing a PKG
Set-up QCMA and paste the PKGs you want to install on the QCMA's PKG folder or in the folder you set-up.
Open the content manager on your friend's PSVita and connect it to the PC.
Forward "HWC-PKG_Installer.eml" to your friend's PSVita's email address.
Open your friend's mail application, then open the message and click on the Howling Wolf & Chelsea logo (not the attachment).
The PKG installer should pop-up, just open it.
Install the packages you want, then close the PKG Installer.
Using the Content Manager, copy the installed applications to the PC, they will be saved in "C:\Users\YourUser\PS Vita\APP\--CMA-ID--\--Application-saved-as-PCSX#####--\"
Now connect you PSVita to the PC using QCMA (remember you should change the CMA protocol from 1800010 (FW3.10) to you Firmware CMA protocol).
Copy the packages to your PSVita.
You are done! You now have PKG installed in your PSVita. Say "thanks" to your friend, give him his original registry back if he/she want it back using the "#0" trick we used some steps ago, and enjoy your PKGs.

Will this work with a signed eboot.pbp or iso. Can these two formats be converted to pkg and I use the lincense rif. From the game I used as base for the enjoy.pbp

e.g. uno as base for a non psn game I dumped from my psp

Thanks for the response in advance

The moment you modify the eboot the rif will no longer work for it, same goes the other way around.
