Homebrew backup with CMA

Post by katsu »

Backup the FBOOT.PBP of your desired homebrew, rename it as PARAM.PBP and copy it back to the homebrew directory
so that now this directory both has FBOOT.PBP and PARAM.PBP.
you can then backup this to your PC via CMA and transfer it back.
PS: PARAM.PBP and FBOOT.PBP don't have to be exact same.
to save space, you can remove data.psp within PARAM.PBP. only icon0.png and param.sfo are enough.
This process might be automatized via an pbp packer/unpacker. :D

Does this mean we could just drop our homebrew in the folder and transfer it over ? Or did it have to be on to begin with?

It is only for backup purposes. It doesn't create a new bubble and/or works from live area. It is still cool though.

Out of curiosity, what do the saved files look like on the PC? I would try this myself, but my only vita is on 3.35.
