WARNING !! 1.65 F/W Blocks E/Tennis VHBL exploit

Post by praed0r »

I just updated to 1.65 f/w.

I knew it might be a problem, but decided I wanted access to PS Store more than I wanted the homebrew stuff.

Result - no more access to homebrew, so DON'T upgrade to 1.65 if you want to keep VHBL working.

Praed0r

PS - The game reports that the save file is corrupted and won't allow the game to run before you allow it to create a new savegame.

I tried re-installing the game and the exploit, the open file manager still allows the exploit to be copied over, but the game still insists the save file is corrupt - so preventing VHBL from initiating.

Got to get to bed now, catch you all later.

Wow. Thanks Sony. There's so much they could have done with this update. PS1 support, PS3 Remote Streaming... You know - All the things they've been promising since Vita's release. But no. The update is CAPSLOCK and a block of our harmless homebrews. I'm staying at 1.61 just to spite them. Release something remotely useful and maybe you'll see anyone actually using VHBL upgrade.

Omg sony :(

They make very good hardware, but software side, it's a pitty. I'm just proud to own a vita, regardless the hardware and the possibility, but i'm borred because of sony, because the lake of functionnality, and now, they block homebrew (okay, it's "normal") but we come back to a strictly closed software piece of **** and full of bug :(

Sony i hate you. Hope MotorStorm will not be nlocked (i don't think so...), and hope the hack and homebrew will grown on vita. I sincerelly think this is my last sony product, but i'm off topic.. sry.

The second we get our hands on some form of Vita SDK, Sony will lose. I'm no hacker, so I'm not of any use at this point in the Vita's life, but when we get an SDK so many developpers like me will have fun finding all the exploits that are programmed into the SDK/firmware. They can't win when it's Sony vs Homebrew Community, we outnumber and outsmart them.

I'm guessing that IF we get the SDK, it will come with some form of emulator, to not have the PSVita in "Developper Mode" (runs Homebrew out-of-the-box), and will probably not allow code signing (encryption) to run it on a PSVita directly. Time will tell, I'm checking for SDK leaks everywhere in the meantime (wikileaks, UseNet, Wololo, ...)
PSVita Model PCH-1001 (OFW 2.61);
PS3 Model CECH-2101B (OFW 4.46);
PSP Go (OFW 6.60)
PSP Model PSP-2001 (God of War Edition)(CFW 6.60 PRO-B10);
PSP Model PSP-1001b (CFW 4.01-m33 + Kernel Plugin);

When will Sony ever learn that fighting against the homebrew community is a lose lose battle,forcing updates to play new games with ridiculous prices at 30-50 bucks for a Handheld game.Same old titles from PSP launch remade for Vita.The reason why the homebrew community even exist is because of Sony themselves, PS Vita with no support for PS1,html 5,youtube,slow web broswer and many glitch and freeze is the many reason homebrew exist in the first place. Community add features that Sony don't even bother adding.

PSP Launch title compared to PS Vita Launch titles.

1.PSP Untold legend brotherhood of the blades.
1a.PSVita Dark Hunter Alliance.
2. Wipeout Pure.
2a. Wipeout 2048.
3.Lumines.
3a Lumines Electronic Symphony.
4. Ridge racers
4a. Ridge racer

To much of the same thing lead to the same results. Just an example how PSP started and how PS vita is starting, the same.

Like to know if the firmware blocked Daveexfusion's exploit also.

Probably be better off buying a PSP for HB atm.

I think it's kind of unfair that you judge the PSVita's "poor library" when it's not the console's, nor Sony fault... The game companies just recycled their games to make money, instead of actually programming. Lumines: UbiSoft; Ridge Racer: NAMCO; Dungeon Hunter: GameLoft/UbiSoft. OK, Wipeout is a SCE game, but I don't think it's that big of a deal... it'd be like complaining that Nintendo released another Mario or Zelda game at the Wii's launch (and 3DS launch)...

PS: it's Dungeon Hunter: Alliance not Dark Hunter Alliance.

It didn't happen because back then because Sony still thought it could win the battle against Homebrew. This time, they're giving us an SDK where we can write standard phone-like apps. It's a more interesting homebrew scene than the PSP Emulator IMHO. The way I see it, with the SDK, we can write a native VHBL without having to abuse of a savefile glitch...
