You miss the point. How much can you customize your iPhone without jailbreaking? You just have to do things the Apple way because they put it that way. If you don't like it that way, you're scr..ed. Also why the heck can't an iPhone bluetooth something not from Apple? That's the point: Apple owns the device, not you.
I was talking more about how companies release a bunch of different android phones over the span of the year. Yea the android the android os gives the user more control over the device but with the iphone you are also paying for the better customer support. If I was to call up samsung because my phone was acting up they wouldn't be as knowledgeable about my phone as apple would be with the iphone as samsung phones even ones with android vary.

Having said that if I was to buy a new phone and I had to choose between a stock ios phone or an android phone I would go with the android phone. But, I would be in the minority since most people prefer having the added convenience/brand name over the better options/specs.

If you have rooted your Android phone, there's no point of calling the Customer Care as you have already void your warranty and also you have enough knowledge of why it is happening if you've rooted it yourself. Donno about Apple Customer Care, but most of the Customer Care guys are dumb. Many on XDA called up SE Custom Care to ask questions about X8, like if its Synaptics chip can get a real dual-touch and whether it will get an ICS upgrade. They replied that Synaptics chip is already dual-touch and X8 is getting ICS on April 22nd! ROFL! Even HTC guys are pretty dumb, My friend called them up to ask the ICS release date, and he didn't knew what ICS stands for, we had to tell him "Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich" and then he asked his senior and told it will be somewhere in 2nd quarter. Not only the mobile companies, but like most of them. The Belkin guys are also dumb, all they know is to pass the call to their seniors! :?

And also, you can't compare Samsung's Customer Care with Apple's, ad Samsung doesn't only has just one divice, there are many for all range, and the Customer Care is ready for any kind of mobile. Apple just has an iPhone, with iOS, and Samsung has Android, WP7, Bada and even cheap Java ones!

Some people find it confusing that so many different phones run Android and they "can't decide".
It's freedom of choice.
You can choose any phone that suits you.
A small phone, a phone with a lot of processing power, a phone with a keyboard,
a gaming phone or just
buy the newest phone available (Samsung Galaxy S II) if you want that.

All phones have a different flavour.

I don't think you would like it if a store had different shampoos and you want all shampoos to be from a specific company so you can easier decide it.

For me Android is a clear winner, and proves that dearer does not mean better.
I love android because (1) its open source (2) its much faster (3) your music is not limited to iTunes (4) it can be used on an array of devices (5) it has a better app store with much faster install times (6) it has much better WiFi, where as iOS can be buggy and often fail to connect!

Don't get me wrong iOS is nice, but I think its very limited.

I wouldn't even compare, ability to connect external keyboard and mouse. Charging battery outside of mobile phone. Apple is not even a candidate for this competition in my opinion.
