The NVidia SHIELD... --- Home of emulators?

Post by zer0wing-G »

*For hungry interested coders & developers... could this expensive stuff be another project of transfer for those bunch of emulators?
*Are there any developers that could somewhat REVEAL this POWERHOUSE on its full potential?
It's on Tegra 4. It's more like a mobile PC+controller.

*Could it emulate PSP & PSVita someday?
*How about the PS2? do you think PS3 Emulator would be delusional?
*How about NintendoDS & 3DS?
*Any responsible for Wii & WiiU?
*Its battery lasts longer for a handheld so the battery issue has been crossed out... like everybody wants. Another wish that's been granted.
It has wifi, just dunno about Adhoc for multiplayer.

It'll be a huge time-consuming work if some devs would reveal its full potential.

But I forgot... it's on Android 4.2.1

"Could it run some more OS?"

That's the question.

What do you guys think? >_>
:shock:

Hungry developers need to make money fast, a mobile console with a small userbase is hardly interesting.

:lol:

Which will not move any further from Angry Birds-quality games.
zer0wing-G wrote:*Could it emulate PSP & PSVita someday?
PSP, maybe, Vita, nope.
zer0wing-G wrote:*How about the PS2? do you think PS3 Emulator would be delusional?
Not a chance.
zer0wing-G wrote:*How about NintendoDS & 3DS?
DS perhaps, 3DS, nope.
zer0wing-G wrote:*Any responsible for Wii & WiiU?
Nope.

I'd not trust any company with their battery life statements. Seeing is believing with battery life.

The hardware allows it, of course.

True. Which is why I think most won't.

A wise choice.
zer0wing-G wrote:"Could it run some more OS?"
Why not?
zer0wing-G wrote:That's the question.
Not really. The question is more like, are Android developers going to jump on this new device and release games specifically for it, or is it going to remain a rather awesome PC controller?

That you're advertising it. :lol:
Apart from that, it's an interesting device that imho has an almost terrible design for a portable console, but is really nifty when it comes to PC connectivity. Being able to be used as a PC controller, and also streaming any game from a PC without the game needing support from it is something no other console can currently do, and makes purchasing a shield worth it.

Doesn't the NVidia Shield run Android? We can't use the already-present Android enulators that cover everything? (like DosBox)
PSVita Model PCH-1001 (OFW 2.61);
PS3 Model CECH-2101B (OFW 4.46);
PSP Go (OFW 6.60)
PSP Model PSP-2001 (God of War Edition)(CFW 6.60 PRO-B10);
PSP Model PSP-1001b (CFW 4.01-m33 + Kernel Plugin);

a mobile console with a small userbase is hardly interesting.
This alone pretty much summarizes the shield's inevitable fate. Its just a matter of time.
