I am not responsible for what happens to your device in the following of this tutorial. Thank you.
Download the downgrader from http://dl.qj.net/psp/homebrew-applicati ... er-v5.html and unzip it.
Plug your PSP in, and transfer the unzipped file onto your memorystick to the following location: (DRIVE LETTER):/psp/game
Run the homebrew on your device. A disclaimer will show up, and assuming you agree to it all, press X.
The updater will appear and you may continue on into the installation.
Once your console reboots you will see a colored screen of some sort, with text all over it. Press X and wait for your console to reboot. Enjoy your newly downgraded PSP!
Assuming you were downgrading for the purpose of installing some sort of CFW here are some tips on what to do and what not to do:
- change type of CFW
- Add homebrew
- Add plugins
- Panic and go willie nilly pressing random buttons and apply everything under the sun to your device in the case of a brick (black screen) or semi(boots to sony logo and freezes)--Some are fixable.
- Touch anything your unsure of what it'll do to your device.
