Downgrading PSP 3001 04g not working.

I have a PSP 3001 04g on 6.60 ofw. Trying to downgrade it to 6.20 so can do the perminate patch as giving to my nephew and he wouldn't know to recovery flash it. Tried every downgrader out there and keep getting the same message " A later version of the system software is already installed". I have all the files in the proper places and still get the same message every time. Really don't know what to do as read the 04g models can be downgraded to 6.20 and don't want to give him the PSP without the perminate patch as I know he won't able to do it or know how to put it to sleep.

you sure you're not just launching the updater? because the downgrader don't display that error :S

download these files:
- the downgrader http://zload.net/v2/archives/file/?id=241603
- the 6.20 firmware http://www.mediafire.com/download/sju9n ... FW_620.zip

extracr the downgrader archive and copy the DOWNGRADER folder in PSP/GAME on the memory stick
extract the firmware archive and put the UPDATE folder in PSP/GAME
full charge your PSP battery, then in the game menu launch the downgrader (not the 6.20 update!) and follow the instructions

Got it working by downgrading to 6.39 then using a different downgrader to get to 6.20.
