There's only one thing though.
I can't play games in full resolution
Same, i had a PSP 3000 the xmb was full screen but then when i launched a Game it when really small xD , i sold my 3000 and got my 1000 i'm happy playing homebrews now
there's a plugin for using composite cables for games called fusaSD(requires a 5.XX or older firmware though)
but it has very low quality, and can cause issues in heavy games.
PSPgo, and supposedly the 3k don't need fusa because of improved TV-out hardware.
the small viewable area in games when using TV-out is a limitation to the PSP's TV out capabilities regardless of cable used, and can also be overcome(at a performance and quality cost) with fusa.

I adjusted the component channel's screen size on my TV to accommodate the small size in TV-out during games. It's an easier & better quality alternative to FuSaSD
