Installing 6.60 CFW breaks Recovery, Home menu and VSH

Post by eight »

I updated from a 5.50 Prome permanent CFW on my PSP 2000 to 6.60 PRO CFW. This has caused me a whole lot of problems.

1- Every time I'm in a game and press home, the exit menu is frozen. I can't move to yes or no, and I can't select either. I get control back if I put my PSP on hold and take it out of hold again.

2- When I go into the recovery menu, if I press up and down the selection goes right back to "back". I also can't seem to select any of the options.

3- While on the XMB I can't press select to open the VSH.

All of these problems happened when I updated it. It is not a hardware problem.

I was able to uninstall CFW and go back to 6.60 OFW. If I try rerunning the PRO CFW update to install CFW it puts me right back to the initial problem.

I have absolutely no clue what to do.

Update or delete VSH and Game.txt plugins probably fix your problems

I can't seem to have a Game.txt file and I don't know where to find the VSH to delete.
Any tips?

EDIT: Also, uninstalling CFW and restarting the PSP bricks it, I was however able to salvage it and reinstall CFW.

I have a VSH.txt that has ms0:/CXMB/cxmb.prx inside it.
It points to a file that is in that folder.

Deleting it doesn't fix any of the problems.

What should I change? I can't even go into the recovery menu to activate it

update cxmb.prx or delete that line and if you got game.txt do the same for that one also
cxmb.prx is loading on start was why you got VSH problems and a BSOD when you restarted

and most likely some plugin in game txt is causing problems with home for games

Deleted the line, even tried deleting VSH.txt altogether, VSH menu still isn't working, neither is the recovery menu nor the home menu .-.

I'm sure. System settings says System Software 6.60 PRO-C2.
I also checked if select was working by using the browser.
