Playstation TV Hack – All hacks available for your PS TV

The Playstation TV is more or less a downgraded PS Vita without a screen. As such, most of the PS Vita Jailbreaks and hacks work out of the Box on a Playstation TV. There is, however, some Playstation TV hack that are specific to this device.

Playstation TV Hack – Whitelist hack

The Playstation TV is limited in its Vita games compatibility through a “whitelist” system that Sony put into place. Although the original goal was to reduce incompatibility issues for games that require a touch screen, etc…, the result is that the Playstation TV does not have access to many of the PS Vita TV games.

This Playstation TV hack, which is compatible up to firmware 3.60 included, gets rid of the whitelist, and lets you play all “blacklisted” games such as Uncharted, Gravity Rush, etc… on your Playstation TV.

On Firmware 3.60, this is done through HENKaku by following this very simple guide.

On firmwares 3.52 and below, This is done by sending yourself a simple email. Instructions can be found here.

Other Playstation TV Hacks

Most PS Vita hacks are compatible with the Playstation TV:

On Firmware 3.60, you’ll be able to run HENkaku on your PS TV. Follow our all-in-one 3.60 hacking guide here.

On Firmware 3.61 or above, you’ll want to check if you can install VHBL.

On older firmwares, check:

VHBL

TN-V

ARK

You will of course need to have the appropriate exploitable games and/or be on the right firmware.

Playstation TV Hack – General Advice

As for other devices, the lower your firmware, the better your chances are at finding a hack that works for your PSTV. Remember, it’s easier to upgrade your firmwares than downgrade them, on any device!

The Playstation TV is a good device considering its low price, and provided it gets the appropriate hacks to extend its app and games selection. It is unfortunately becoming difficult to find as Sony stopped producing it. At the time of this writing, Playstation TV can be found on Amazon for less than $40

I just got a PS TV today, but unfortunately it looks like I am stuck on 3.35. When I go to System Update, the only option is 3.61. Is there any way to get to 3.6?

disaster! bought a pstv and updated it to 3.60, after that i read about the whitelisthack, bought a new pstv, tried to activate it on 3.20 and unfortunately the vitaupdateblocker doesnt work for european pstv. Then i read about the HENkaku programm and was really excited. I already had a PsTV with firmware 3.60, but that one was initialized, so it was on 3.60 but not activated. I was too late… I had to install update 3.61, to activate it again. Bad luck for me on PsTV…

My PSTV is currently still on the 3.60 firmware and I have the whitelist hack working fine, thanks to this tutorial. It’s been a while since I’ve used it but now it’s asking me to update to 3.63 if I want to use my memory card. I can check e-mails or play certain games otherwise. If I update to the latest 3.63 firmware, would this override the whitelist hack that’s already in place and would I be sc*** forever?

If I use the whitelist hack, can I use my PSN account or there’s a risk of getting banned?
