Black/Green Infected

Post by lantern48 »

Creatures:

- 4x Plague Stinger (Scars of Mirrodin)
- 4x Phyrexian Crusader (Mirrodin Besieged)
- 4x Ichor Rats (Scars of Mirrodin)
- 4x Hand of the Praetors (Scars of Mirrodin)
- 4x Glistener Elf (New Phyrexia)
- 1x Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon (Scars of Mirrodin)

Spells:

- 4x Groundswell (Worldwake)
- 4x Giant Growth (Magic 2011)
- 4x Vampire's Bite (Zendikar)
- 4x Go for the Throat (Mirrodin Besieged)
- 2x Nature's Claim (Worldwake)
- 2x Vendetta (Rise of the Eldrazi)

Lands:

- 5x Forest
- 5x Swamp
- 4x Twilight Mire (Eventide)
- 4x Verdant catacombs (Zendikar)
- 1x Shinzo, Death's Storehouse (Champions of Kamigawa)

My take on a Black/Green Infect deck.
There's a few different ways to win: by pumping and attacking or by using the Ichor Rats and Hand of the Praetor combo.
2 Hand of the Praetor's in play followed by summoning a Ichor Rat will cause an automatic 3 poison counters.

I'm gonna add it to the A.I. deck list and see how well it the A.I. can play it.
Wagic has no official Infect deck so hopefully the A.I can use this well.
Also, if you're making this an A.I. deck, you can give the A.I. 4 of the dual land 'Bayou' and also the legendary land 'Gaea's Cradle.'
That should make the A.I. more consistent and tougher to deal with.

there is actually an infect deck in wagic, people tend to overwrite the 100-106 decks with preexisting decks they added...
the name of the deck is actually called "infection"

zeth has said in the other thread he's ready with ready with proliferate, so Contagion Clasp,Contagion Engine and Throne of Geth should be in soon.
One tiny sting, either by Plague Stinger or an animated Inkmoth Nexus and you can sit back and relax while killing the opponent slowly.
For now, here's my take on a blitz mono green infect deck.
Specially for slower decks, if you get a good draw, it's a turn 2 kill.
Turn 1 forest, glistener elf (1/1)
Turn 2 forest, groundswell targeting elf with landfall (5/5), and berserk elf (10/5), swing for the kill if there's no blockers.
wololo has said before the expansion is not required, only if you care about what image you want.
Berserk *4
Expedition Map *4
Giant Growth *4
Glistener Elf *4
Green Sun's Zenith *4
Groundswell *4
Mutagenic Growth *4
Reclaim *1
Tumble Magnet *3
Vines of Vastwood *4
Forest *8
Inkmoth Nexus *4
Misty Rainforest *4
Verdant Catacombs *4
Wooded Foothills *4

they were there for additional infect creatures that can't be countered.
To be more AI friendly, assuming the AI will try to attack always if it has a bigger attack power then you
Added more basic land so that AI wouldn't get blitzed so easily should it take too much pain from fetchlands.
Also did a smaller 4/2 split with Berserk/Reclaim with the 4 extra Blight mamba regenerating.
Essentially has access to 16 infecters so it's not as AI unfriendly as the previous list.
Still lots of free pump spells (growth and invigorate) couple with berserk and groundswell for a good chance of turn 2 with elf or safer on 3 with mamba.
Since Blinkmoth is AI unfriendly, added Strip Mine which goes with Tumble Magnet to help impede setting up of defenses.
Berserk *4
Blight Mamba *4
Rancor *4
Glistener Elf *4
Green Sun's Zenith *4
Groundswell *4
Invigorate *4
Mutagenic Growth *4
Reclaim *2
Tumble Magnet *4
Forest *10
Misty Rainforest *4
Strip Mine *4
Verdant Catacombs *2
Wooded Foothills *2
It's too bad the AI isn't fond of dual lands and needs a big power boost before attacking, would have loved to add in Blighted Agent which is an two mana unblockable infecter.
