Custom AI decks UPDATED 2013/08/27

Post by Niegen »

Here are a few decks I am having fun with lately, they are quite effective.

*New*: Update to my "Corruption" deck from the 1st Official Wagic Deck Competition, using the new directives that were introduced recently to improve the ai's behaviour.
I need returns on the deck's performance, so do not hesitate to post feedback!

As it is easier to track updates using code tags, I won't provide the decks in downloadable form in this thread.
Since wololo added them to the SVN for testing purpose, you can get them there, although they might not be up to date with this thread.
Installation notes (AI deck):
  • Copy the deck's code into a text file on your computer, and save it as deck[x].txt (replace [x] with a number), ie deck5.txt, deck24.txt.
  • Copy that file in the res\ai\baka directory.
  • Make sure that there is no "hole" in the deck's chain (deck1.txt, deck2.txt, deck3.txt, deck5.txt, deck5 won't be visible since there is no deck4)
  • Optionnaly, you can add a custom avatar to the res\ai\baka\avatar directory, as a 35x50 jpg image. If you don't, the default AI avatar will be used.
Installation notes (Player deck):
Those decks are also playable by a human player. However, keep in mind that some cards choices are not optimal, and reflect the fact that the AI would not be able to use "better" cards effectively.
  • Copy the deck's code into a text file on your computer, and save it as deck[x].txt (replace [x] with a number), ie deck5.txt, deck24.txt.
  • Copy that file in the res\player directory.
  • Make sure that there is no "hole" in the deck's chain (deck1.txt, deck2.txt, deck3.txt, deck5.txt, deck5 won't be visible since there is no deck4)
WIP (old list, don't hold your horses):
  • Esper deck - Ready, soon to be released
  • Burn - Ready, soon to be released
  • Merfolk - Tweaking manabase
  • Bant deck - Tweaking manabase
  • Sliver deck - Tweaking
  • Dragon deck - Needs improvement for the early game
  • Treefolk deck - Needs improvement for the early game
  • Megrim deck - Lacking cards not codable yet

Thanks for the report!

I guess I'll maintain 2 versions of each deck...

I'll fix that shortly.

Edit: There, it's done. Replaced Beacon of Immortality by a fourth Swords to Plowshares.

Just now, i was messing around and using the ElfBall deck and decked myself out... It came up and said you have been defeated.

I thought you all might find it funny.

Regal Force tends to do that, if you are not careful... "draw 56 cards", yeah, right...

It is the main reason why I removed it from the AI version ;)

Maybe you should also post your decks in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=592
In general, I think we should really have a sticky for AI decks.

New deck: Jihad

Also, if someone is willing to write a description text with more "flavour" for any deck, I am open to suggestions ;)

Bien sûr! But the elf deck needs some replacement for the magistrates, and I haven't found one yet. It's still quite potent though...

Edit: Ok, found 2 possible replacements:

Heedless One
Drove of Elves

I think trample would be better than enemy shroud in this deck, but I want to test both cards, so I updated the deck to a 3/1 split.

Edit 2: Added "Spectral Rack" deck.
