Hi, I put together a little pack with textless promos that were available in the player reward program.

Images courtesy of Magic Rarities

2009/09/09 v0.3 for Wagic v 0.8.1 Fixed Zombify, Psionic Blast and Corrupt that were missing (thanks NyghtcrawleR). Added Rampant Growth & Oxidize. No update required for the image pack. (24 cards)
2009/08/24 v0.2 for Wagic v 0.8.1 Added Terminate & Negate (19 cards)
2009/07/12 v0.1 for Wagic v 0.7.1 First release (17 cards)

Hi.

Nice job on the promo cards. I'm a big fan of pretty art, I've got the unhinged lands as well.
I really wish they would include it in the main game, but the "official" wagic doesn't show the graphics anyway.

I think it would be much better if you just merge all your promo cards set together into 1 big set.
i.e. you could merge this set with your previous post viewtopic.php?f=3&t=480&start=0
and call it PRO (or whatever name you like).

Do the same to any future promo sets you release, and the set will grow bigger.
(Hopefully big enough for a booster one day :D )

I think it's much more convenient that way.
Just a suggestion.

I already thought about it, in fact, I also wanted to add all the various APAC/Euro/Guru Lands, Arena League Promos, etc.
In fact, if I include all of those, I will probably reach the 80 cards mark, and we would get a booster then if I make a single set.

However, there is a problem.
  • 20 Arena lands
  • 5 APAC lands
  • 15 Euro lands
  • 5 Unglued lands
  • 5 Unhinged lands (it would make sense to put them in here too, if you think about it)
  • 24 Rewards (22 are done for now, I haven't taken the time to add Rampant Growth & Oxydize, which are codable)
  • 4 Champs
Total 76 cards.

Adding a few other alternate art promos would put us over the 80-cards mark easily, and we would have our booster.

But then, since a booster is 1 land, 10 commons, 3 uncommons, 1 rare, buying this booster would guarantee some very good cards, every time: all REW & CHP cards are playable, there is not a single crepes card!

Even if I was to let the REW/CHP card pool grow naturally, you can bet it will only consist of highly playable cards.

My full opinion on the matter is linked to a feature request.
It would be nice to have per set settings like this:

BoosterAvailableInShop=Always/Unlock/Never (So M10 would be "Always", Sets would be usually Unlock, and Sets like PRO/CHP would be Never)
SingleAvailableInShop=Always/Unlock/Never
LandPerBooster=1
CommonPerBooster=10
UncommonPerBooster=3
RarePerBooster=1
MythicPerBooster=R/8 (or something)
LandReward=5 (Would randomly give a land every 5 victories)
CommonReward=10 (Would randomly give a common every 10 victories)
UncommonReward=30
RareReward=50
MythicReward=?
BuyMultiplicator=5 (Buying a card would cost 5 times the "normal" price, for most set, this should be 1)
SellMultiplicator=0.5 (Selling a card is usually 0.5*the buy cost, but for this set it should be 2.5)

I'm interested in everyone's opinion.

Hmm...

I see your point. It would be quite broken to have a pack full of tournament favorites

Perhaps a simple solution would be to simply make the booster cost very high,
and/or reduce the number of cards per pack.
(is that even possible?)

A high costing booster makes sense because it requires more credits to buy,
which indirectly equates to more matches played or won,
which is quite close to how you get the promo cards in real life right?
(By playing more tournaments, OR buying them off eBay :roll: )


Hopefully wololo can shed some light on how to go about doing this...

Your cards.dat file only contains 19 cards in it, which is 3 less than what you listed. Also you have 2 cards.dat files, one is the older one I guess.

Guess I left out cards somewhere, thanks for the post, I'll fix it tonight.

And yes, I like to keep former versions.

Edit: There, it is fixed, and I took the opportunity to add Oxidize & Rampant Growth.
