A New Card Browsing System with Filtering/Sorting

Post by orine »

Hi, coders.

As posted previously in another thread viewtopic.php?f=5&t=452, I'm working on a new card browsing system with filtering/sorting functionalities. This was a private modification only for my fun and programming study, but now I'd like to submit my ideas to the project for the sake of other users. I hope that you official coders accept it.

I'll explain my ideas and codes step by step in this topic, because there are some modules to be introduced and coding is not finished yet. Please review/comment.

My objectives are to provide:
  • sorting/filtering functionalities for card lists
  • new GUI component for browsing cards with sorting/filtering commands, basic 2d look, and scroll bar.
  • (optionally) new card graphic renderer without images (for big/thumb sizes)
  • new deck editor

[The extension jpg has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]

This looks awesome. Is it a new mode for the deck editor, or does it completely replace the current "3D" display ?

Whoa... this look great...

First Comment, the display of cards is quite small and probably not so convenient after all if you want to "browse" through it...
seems that the you remediate the problem by showing the "details" of the cards on the bottom of the screeen ...
Would it not be more convenient to be able to switch between both view (3D/2D) ?
Or do you plan to have a kind of "display card" button, like for the in game with the triangle button (would be also a good alternative) ?

Well, I would like to give you more feedback/comments, so waiting to playtest it or have more details to be able to give you more constructive feedback

This does look like a great idea but abrasax is right in a sense. (There could be possibly an option to enlarge the card by pressing triangle?) No doubt I have wanted a new browsing and sorting system since I first got Wagic (no offense Wololo) so I really hope this gets released with 0.8.1

Re-Up

Does this feature will be implemented soon or this guy wasn't with us anymore?

It will make the game more interesting. It's too long when you have big collection...

orine hasn't connected on the forum in 2 months. He might come back, but in the meantime, you should consider this project canceled.
