Intro Video

I know devs shouldn't ask for features unless they want to coder them but I might do that for this with alittle help. I was thinking we should have an intro video for new players showing them what wagic is all about. What do you guys think? I'd just need someone to make the video. Not sure what format, I'd assume MP4, but for Windows and Linux not sure thatd work off the bat... (they'd need a codec)

I thought this was a great video & does show in-game play but maybe Yeshua means an 'instructional' video.

Not instructional, like a introduction to the game. Some games have them... Kind of like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9Pyh7QlN9I GIven this one has a story but even without a story you could still have a video

I have a nice imagining of a little intro vid, just not the graphical skillz to make it. It would open with some nice fantasy music and the screen would pan across the default theme backdrop showing a few cards being played. Then it would cut to the shop and looking at the cards, even throwing in a tagline across it like "you gonna buy somethin?" like the shopkeeper would say. then it would cut to looking at different cards and moving through the deck editor. Finally it would have a black screen with each of the 5 mana symbols coming at you from the distance in order and the last one would fade in the Wagic!? main symbol and slowly fade out with wololo's name. I think it would be a nice quick 15-20 second intro that would add to the game, I just don't know how well it could be done. Maybe I'll try to whip something up with screen capture software or something....

Alright, I made a vid. I noticed that I had my friggin mouse in the way while I was using fraps so I will probably remake the video at a later time, but is this maybe something like you wanted? I know at the end I say it is available for windows/linux and psp which would make it more of a promo vid then an in game intro, but the entire project is saved in nero so I can change, remove, edit whatever to it. If anyone has more ideas, drop me a line. I can tell that the one made by wololo is a bit better, but like I said, my skillz are still lacking.

I feel bad now because I worked on one for the last three hours and it's no where as good as yours plus, the idea I had for a movie is basically like what you already did. If I would have actually went and looked at it first, I would have realized there is the same basic concept already out there and I am an idiot.
