Re: unhappy ai
and more same may do with blocking, I saw that AI often blocking creature 2/2 with creature 1/1 when there is more creature 1/1 in atacking. Now I explained it with random how in the case in damage. AI may select which creature to block same that in damage, with iterate (AI may suppose that given c...

Re: unhappy ai
1) There was a strong misunderstanding here. I wasn't saying casting LB on the Kahmal. I was saying using Both a LB AND Kamahl to deal a total of 6 damages in one turn to a 6/6 creature, sorry if I wasn't clear on that. I don't know why an experienced Magic player wouldn't use several damage cards ...

Re: unhappy ai
Yorien says: I don't fully agree. I think we should adjust the values, but saying that the AI will NEVER cast a damager if it cannot kill at once is a bit over the top. Imagine the AI has Kamahl pit fighter, and a lightning bolt. and you have a 6/6. Right now, the AI has a few chances to cast the li...

Re: artwork album
Yorien says: ... is it possible to add a card as a reward from a specific set that is not unlockable otherwise? ... I'd say yes and no. For example, for story mode, I feel should be a pretty good idea to be able to get some extremely rare cards to be playable, but for other play modes I don't think ...

Re: Strategic reaction to cards
Yorien says: For the record our ai already has such a threat mechanism Yep, I know. Separate the threat by card type and so on are just ideas that might be considered as tweaks, since different card types may "work" in different leagues (for example, Progenitus and Leyline of Punishment, both of the...

Re: Strategic reaction to cards
Yorien says: As Wololo suggests, instead of coding a database with cards that will have to be continually updated (new sets, unofficial sets, created-from-scratch cards, etc), code the "CantLose" ability and add high enough threat associated to it so AI will "know" that dealing with that card is a p...

Re: unhappy ai
Yorien says: Minimax can be optimized and can be used side by side with hard coded AI. One does not exclude the other, however minimax is harder to implements then it looks, or at least to me and for now. The ???secret??? might lie with minimax+alphabeta pruning+ deck specific strategies I believe t...

Re: unhappy ai
Yorien says: ... and the crowd cheer!!!! ROOOOOAAAAR! thank you yorien....hit the nail on the head again! short version: DoTP ai is built to only run 75 card decks amazingly....but thats it.... Wagic ai is built to run decks built from a 7613(exact amount of current svn) decently....not amazing...bu...

Re: unhappy ai
Yorien says: I'm unhappy with the ai, it's far from Microprose "Duels of Planeswalkers" AI. AI had advantage in some games, and if I played instead of AI, I would have won. Developers do something... About this... Wagic's AI is waaaaaaaaaaay better than Duels of the Planeswalkers AI. Period. Now, be...

Re: Casting a spell that does nothing
Yorien says: Probably the main problem here is that Wagic only has a "generic" IA. Planeswalkers for example, has an IA programed to play the DECK it's controlling. Planeswalkers IA knows the basic rules of magic and has a specific idea of how it should play the deck it's controlling. Wagic on the o...
