Important note: This page is obsolete, and kept for archive purposes only. TN Hen is not maintained anymore, and I now recommend a much easier technique to install a CFW on your PSP. If you reached this page from an other website, I recommend you go back to the page presenting the easy technique to install Pro CFW. This page is kept for archive purposes only.
You reached this page because you want to install a Custom Firmware on your PSP3000, PSPGo, or a PSP2000 with a UNhackable motherboard (ta88v3), and you’re hesitating between 6.20 Hen by Total Noob, or 6.35 CFW by Virtuous Flame.
(Note: Click here to go back to the main page of this guide)
Which one to choose? The answer is complex, both tools have pros and cons, and I don’t want to make the decision for you. Both Total_Noob and Virtuous flame, at the time of this writing, are updating their tools on a regular basis, so it is difficult to say which one is best.
First of all, some PSPs can not go down to Firmware 6.20 (some specific models of PSP 3000, known as 07g and 09g). For you the answer is easy, you will have to use Pro CFW 6.35. If you’re not the owner of one of those 07g or 09g, read along.
Let’s say that TN Hen has (historically) a better Homebrew compatibility. Pro CFW 6.35 seems to be aiming more at the “iso” crowd, has good homebrew compatibility, but onthe other hand, installs stuff to your flash, which is always risky business.
Whichever you decide to install, know that you can go back and forth between the two, and there’s no clear advantage of one doing more than the other. Stuff that is missing from one of these CFW can always be compensated with the use of plugins, or additional tools.

In my opinion i find tn hen over LCFW 6.35 for two main reasons
reason 1 – TN hen -D will support psx from rip ps1 disc since i own alot of ps1 games i would like to rip my disc and run it on my psp go and not have to buy psn psx games of ones i already own on that note… psp LCFW 6.35
only alows psn psx games to run….
reason 2 – People have said LCFW 6.35 is geared towards ISO and that may be true but i been with the psp since the first fat came out so i own alot of psp games and riped them all and found that TN – C for me has been running more of my iso then LCFW 6.35 i dont know why but for me it dose almost all my games on TN – C runs… when only a little more then half of my games run on 3.56 only
i hope this helps but like i said this is only my opinion and only with my collection of psp games your findings might be diffrent 🙂
You lucky that your ISO work with TN-C. Only around 50% on mine are working, but the worse thing about TN-Hen is no support from other dev. New games will not work, and that will force everyone to use something else.
My thoughts on the lcfw vs hen is… the lcfw doest have too much homebrew support but hey ” almost all of the new homebrews comming out are signed” so that little extra support on hen is useless ” in some cases not all”. if your more of a plugin user than i suggest the hen for you “only about 7+ plugins work on lcfw pro, where as hen over 15+” hen also has a neat tool to stop you from updating and has has alot more ctf for it……. Continued…..
the lcfw pro has great iso support and stright from Xmb. lcfw also has 50mb of ram unlocked? correct me if wrong. it also has the abilty to run psx game ” im not talking about psn im talking about riped iso from your collection at home 😉 instructions on ripping psx games and converting them into eboot …….. continued.,..,….,
in order to have psx games on psp you must have lcfw 6.35 pro B installed. after you have that download a program called psx2psp “i recommend the newest version and download from qj.com aka quick jump gaming” after you download the program start ripping you psx to iso using the tool<–~ after you ripped it you can now make an eboot file " fill free to customize the icon with cover screen clip art or get creative like adding sound and more. after you do that click convert….continued
and drag that file “do not rename leave as is” into ms0:/psp/game/¤here¤. after that you done go to you psp and make sure the cfw is running or else it wont show up. p.s. before you start ripping your psx games like crazy”google 6.35 psx”and click the link that says psx compatability. check to see if you game works before you waist your time.for now i would say go with the pro lcfw, untill tn comes up with some thing”Dont forget to check the genises comp.and test the games/app”myfav is block game!
Just installed PRO-B on my PSP 3000. Easy to install and worked like a charm. I followed this tutorial up to the point where I pick the “hen” to install and googled PRO-B and dl it elsewhere. Please update this awesome tutorial to reflect the newest updates!!
