You reached this page because you want to install a Custom Firmware on your PSP3000, PSPGo, or a PSP2000 with a UNhackable motherboard (ta88v3), and you currently have a firmware 6.20 or below installed on your PSP. If you’re not sure of that anymore (psp 2000 owners, there is a chance your motherboard could be hackable), or if you want to check again, or if you have a different PSP model, please go back to the main page of this guide.
You basically have two choices. you can either upgrade to Firmware 6.35 and run the 6.35 CFW By Virtuous Flame, or stay on firmware 6.20 (or upgrade to it) and use Total_Noob’s Hen for 6.20. The choice is up to you, these systems both have pros and cons, so pick the one you prefer.

- I’d actually like to install Virtuous Flame’s CFW 6.35
You’re still here? It means you made your choice, and you want to stay on 6.20, and install TN’s Hen. First, if you’re under firmware 6.20, follow this essential step:
- If your psp has a firmware under firmware 6.20, Upgrade your PSP to the official firmware 6.20. If you own a PSP 1000/2000/3000, you can download the firmware here (or alternate link here). If you have a PSP Go, download the firmware here. Once you have the firmware, place it in your PSP/UPDATE folder, and running it from your PSP menu.
Done? Good. Now, to run TN’s Hen, just do the following:
- Download TN’s Hen here (or alternate link here)
- unzip the Hen archive (download above) at the root of your memory stick
- Go to the “Game” section in your PSP menu, and Run the Hen
- That’s it! You’re now running the Hen, which you can confirm by pressing the “select” button (you should see the VSH menu appear)
- If you want to go further, you might need to look for additional tools such as iso loaders. But you can already enjoy homebrews and plugins from now on
Note that every time you turn your psp off (I mean, really off, sleep mode is NOT the same thing), you will need to run the Hen again… but hey, that’s 5 seconds of your life, not a big deal I think 😉

Wololo 5.03 genc/prome4 user have a question should we ugrade to 6.20tn or 6.35pro-b or not?
Will we be able to use all 5.03genc/prome4 capablitiy’s (like: all 5.00m33-5.50gen plugins) on 6.20tn or 6.35pro-b?
I think 6.xx is where all the fun stuff will be happening from now on. I don’t play official games that much, so for me the best firmware is still 5.00m33. In your position I’d go to 6.XX, but that’s a personal choice.
Can’t you have a full CFW with a PSP 3k? Isn’t it better than HEN and pro? If so, why use these methods…
No you can’t have full cfw on 3k only on 1k and 2k and cfw is always better than hen
I wonder if its possible to downgrade to 5.00 by faking to 3.50 and trying to upgrade to 5.00
Why would you want to downgrade to 5.00?
I Have A GT Sp 3002 from au with ofw 5.70 Now If I update it to 6.20 ofw then use Total_Noob’s Hen for 6.20 then run hallcat flasher & try install 5.00m33 Has Any One Try This Out?

From what I know, any 3k PSP can’t be installed with any CFW on 5.00 or 5.50. I have a 3k and I used to have 5.03, but I personally prefer 6.20 TN-D. It’s your choice if you want 6.20 TN HEN or 6.35 Pro-B3…

Actually, on a 3000 if you have 6.20 you can install the 6.20 Pro B5 permanent patch. So yes, you can have a CFW.
The 6.20 update doesn’t seem to be compatible with PSP Go (v5.70). Is the d/l link compatible with 1k, 2k, or 3k only?

Hen 6.20
I have 6.20 PRO-B5, how do I update it to 6.35 PRO?
Following your instructions I made a downgrade of PSPgo from 6.38 to 6.20. All went fine. Installed TNH for go, installed ISOLoader, palyed games from ISO, again all runs fine.
Then tried to start licensed games that were at the flash already and an error message appered “The game could not be started (80010087)”
Is there any way how to play the licensed games with above modifications?
