Switch emulator: Ryujinx 1.1.1364 released
When it comes to Nintendo Switch emulation, Ryujinx remains the only “up to date” solution nowadays, following Yuzu being taken down by a Nintendo Lawsuit. (It is still possible to find Yuzu of course, and the emulator is still exceptionally good, but I would expect these builds to become stale and outdated after a while).
Ryujinx getting daily updates
Ryujinx is an open source Nintendo Switch emulator, running on Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Despite being self described as an “experimental” emulator, Ryujinx already plays more than 3500 games from the Switch library without any problem, according to their compatibility list.
The emulator broke new ground a few years ago by allowing users of the emulator to play online with real Nintendo Switch devices (provided the Switch in question runs a CFW). You can read about the LDN3 release here.
Ryujinx haven’t done an official “major” release in a while, but they have a daily build mechanism which ensures you’re getting the latest patches and updates any time you download from their official links. Back in March, the team introduced a new frontend named “Avalonia”, with support for light/dark modes, and an integrated mod manager.
Recent updates and commits have brought multi-game XCI support, improvements to Vulkan 3D acceleration and shaders, better compatibility with newer Switch firmwares, and multiple bug fixes.
If you haven’t made the switch to Ryujinx yet, give it a try!
