PS4 Release: PS4 Player 3D 1.00 by Lapy. Video Player with 3D Support (with optional PSVR support)

PS4 Scene developer Lapy has released a new piece of homebrew: PS4 Player 3D is an MP4 Video player with support for 3D Videos. This is a first release of course so it comes with limitations (it only supports MP4 files for now, for example), but this is a very promising tool and I’m hoping we’ll see some updates down the line!

What is PS4 Player 3D

PS4 Player 3D is a Homebrew application for the PS4 that lets you play 3D movie files, currently supporting the MP4 format. It leverages PSVR (but this is not a requirement) for immersive 3D support.

• 3D video player with VR support (not required)
• Copy your 3D videos to a folder named 3DVideos on a USB or in /data.
• The app can automatically configure your playback, if you add one of these strings to the video file name:
  • _180 (for 180º videos)
  • _360 (for 360º videos)
  • _TB (for TOP BOTTON videos)
  • _LR (for LEFT RIGHT videos)
  • _EQU _CUB _EAC
  • Example: Delicious Fight_LR.mp4, Night Sky_360_TB
