Holiday Sales: last minute deals for gamers
Christmas is near, and we’re approaching the last days where online retailers can guarantee your order will make it in time for Christmas. This is the time most people try to grab last minute deals and stock stuffers. I’ve found a few on Amazon and others, many of them in the continuity of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, a few new ones.

- Prices are accurate at the time of writing but might change quickly. The “off xx%” is what is being reported by the retailer compared to MSRP, but in my experience does not always match the actual discount compared to recent prices.

The Best Deals in my opinion
Here’s a TL,DR:
- Humble Bundle are making some of their most successful bundles of the year available for a limited time each, with their “Holiday Encore” sale. You might grab something you like for very cheap here, such as the “Scary Games to play in the Dark” holiday encore bundle, Or the Spaced Out Bundle (High on Life, Outer Worlds, Journey to the Savage Planet,…). More bundles will come every day.
- A few good PS5 and Switch games are seeing good discounts. Some that caught my attention are Assassin’s Creed Mirage Deluxe Edition for $39.99 (PS5), Wo Long Fallen Dynasty Steelbook launch edition for $47.99 (PS5), Death’s Door Ultimate Edition for $21.66 (PS5), and Bayonetta 3 Collector’s Edition for $59.99 (Switch). Kena Bridge of Spirits remains at an all time low of $19.41 if you still haven’t tried this cute PS5 game.
- If you’re looking for a PS5 console, The PS5 COD Modern Warfare III bundle is $499 (11% off, you basically get the game for free). Also available with the Spider Man 2 Slim bundle (better game!). Other stores such as Target might have better deals (also in physical locations) so be sure to check them out. Understand that PS5 consoles sold at mainstream retailers currently are not hackable. - A growing number of Amazon deals are “Prime exclusive”. If you’re not prime yet, you can most likely get a 1-month free trial. The free trial is worth it no matter what, as it will also allow you to score a few free games on Amazon Gaming at the very least. (You can also cancel the automatic renewal immediately and still keep the 1 month benefit of the free trial. You also get to keep the games)
And a few words of advice (probably obvious, but…):
- For similar prices, I recommend getting a physical edition over a digital one, in particular because you can resell it later on. Physical still has more value than digital nowadays
- Similarly, It’s a bit sad that Sony aren’t aggressively discounting PS4 games at this point. They cost the same as the PS5 version in most cases, so when you have the choice, go with the PS5 version.

Console
