Developer Illusion has published an update to GoldHEN Plugin Repository. Version 1.185 Adds a Force 30 FPS plugin, and a Game Patch plugin (patches games before boot).

What is GoldHEN Plugin Repository?

Late last year, GoldHEN added support for plugins. This allows PS4 users to “enrich” their Custom firmware experience at runtime, and without having to wait for a new update of the popular homebrew Enabler GoldHEN. It’s basically a much more advanced way to configure your Jailbroken PS4 to your liking.

Beyond Game Patch and Force 30 FPS which have been added today, the plugin repository also contains button swap (to swap X and O), Gamepad helper (button mapping, vibration intensity settings, etc…), and more.

People have been asking what’s the point of a 30FPS Patch for games. The reality is that the PS4 is showing its age, and sometimes it’s better to have a constant 30FPS, than a game that oscillates between 25FPS and 60FPS. Illusion demonstrates the result in a recent Resident Evil 4 Remake video. (although to be honest the benefits of the patch are not obvious to the naked eye, in this video, but you can see it at roughly 1:45, where the 60FPS version drops to 25FPS while the 30FPS patch is having a better time)

Install and use goldHEN Plugin Repository

Please note that you will need a Jailbroken PS4 in order to run GoldHEN and associated homebrew. We have a tutorial here on how to Jailbreak your PS4 and run goldHEN.

From the Readme:

• Load GoldHEN 2.3 or newer on your PS4.
• Enable option to load plugins in Plugins Menu.

• Download plugins from Release Page.
• Extract downloaded plugins into /data/GoldHEN/plugins/.
• Add plugins you want to load into /data/GoldHEN/plugins.ini.
  • Per game plugins sections are recommended over putting everything in default.
