CTurt leaves the PlayStation hacking scene

Hacker CTurt has announced earlier today that he will be leaving the hacking Scene. The hacker has contributed to some major breakthroughs in PS4 and PS5 hacking through his involvement in the scene since 2015, including the recently released Mast1c0re exploit, as well as the very first public Jailbreak for the PS4, on firmware 1.76 back in 2016.
CTurt’s contributions to the PlayStation hacking scene
There are many hackers involved in the PS4/PS5 hacking scene, but only a handful have had an impact similar to that of CTurt.
Back in 2016, the hacker published details of the very first Jailbreak for the PS4, on firmware 1.76 at the time. The dlclose exploit remained the only public way to hack your PS4 for a very long time, until the 4.05 Jailbreak (disclosed by Fail0verflow and implemented by SpecterDev).
It’s worth noting that at the time, the hacker had already announced he would stop working on PlayStation hacking, and that turned out to not be entirely true.
Much more recently, CTurt released a hack for the PS2 (yes, you read that correctly) which has the particularity of being compatible with slim versions of the console.
In recent years, CTurt has been particularly active on the PS4/PS5 scene, working directly through the HackerOne bug bounty to report his findings to Sony. He’s been awarded multiple high level bounties for his exploits, some of which we have to assume will never be publicly released. One of them however was the Mast1c0re exploit, a PS2 vulnerability on PS4 and PS5, which to this day is the only way to run unsinged code on the PS5’s latest firmware.
CTurt is leaving the hacking scene
Although he is not giving any specific reason, CTurt has taken to Twitter today to state he is leaving the scene. As I’ve mentioned above, he had already technically “stopped” working on PS4 hacks back in 2015, so maybe this is just temporary, but who knows.

This possibly means we will never see “part 2” of the Mast1c0re exploit writeup. The hacker has stated he is considering publishing it, but it is unfinished.
So long CTurt, and thanks for all the fish!

I’m glad he’s gone if the ps4 9.03 was ready to try my reaction would be different here. So don’t come back until you learn a KERNAL EXPLOIT on the system I haven’t updated yet.
Another nail in the coffin of new PS4 jailbreaks. Sad, sad…
i smell ***
Can we talk about the fact that Resident Evil 4 is available for download as FPKG on day one? The hacks are out there, just not public
soa triste, mas desejo-lhe sucesso!
Sell out POS. We see what you bout, basz trick.
What the ***? Pick up the baton and run with it then cunto! *** entitled ***.
this guys is a sellout, he wants only fame and couldnt even crack the PS5
Kind of did though?
This is literally what most of the hackers/crackers ever wanted, outside of the fun/technical aspect of it.
You think people who are smart enough to make 6-7figures a year give a *** about free games? That’s why HEN/Atmosphere locked down game piracy on purpose, most of them have rightful contempt over people who only take and give nothing but at best do *** “first” comments on wololo dot net at worst only complain and waste people’s time just to get some free games.
Stop. Oh wait.
couldnt u write a ps4linux.com linux store for ps4 ?
One that downloads all neccesairy files (three files per distro)
to hdd/linuxinstallers/*name*
and another one that installs multi distro linux internal external ?
Yes rufus
good doggy
Well you seem to know quite a bit, how about you write the program for us? Situation solved
narrowed down .. new approach multi disto boot internal
narrowed down new linux payload that symlinks multi distro boot menu
and sysmmu-ps4 and emunand-ps4 booting ps4linux multiarch multiboot (aka dev emu for ps4 pc)
in a fresh compile for pc :p
buildroot busybox kernel headers and pakket manager
NOOOOOOOO
another solution would be to run the
ps4-docker_linux.img+initrd.tar.gz
in a docker busybox ramdisk …
as a multiarch switch (instant switch)
F*** dis dude.
kernel 6.0 incompatible with vendor pc
initramdiskinitrd + Bzimage boot ramdisk with docker autoinstalls
multiarch instant switch
:p
NOOOOOO
never
create ur own packet manager
wololo vpk install all
Frist
I hope that ps5 will be never broken
Why?
Thank Cturt for all shared with us.
cturk is a c-***
