Nintendo DSi gets a browser exploit, almost 15 years after its release
Developer Nathan Farlow has released Stylehax, an exploit for the Nintendo DSi. In a video showcasing the vulnerability, the hacker is seen running the exploit on a DSi, and launching Twilight Menu++, a homebrew launcher and general purpose menu for hacked Nintendo DS.
The DSi launched in 2008, almost 15 years ago, so it’s pretty impressive to see a new exploit being developed for the old console. (Although not entirely unheard of. An exploit for the DSi camera – memory pit – was released 4 years ago)
What is Stylehax for Nintendo DSi
Stylehax is a browser exploit for the Nintendo DSi’s integrated browser. It doesn’t require additional hardware to trigger, other than an SD card with the boot.nds file (e.g. from Twilight Menu ++).
The exploit leverages some vulnerability in the DSi’s browser CSS library, but we’re waiting for a writeup from Nathan for more details on the hack.
Use/Download Stylehax for Nintendo DSi
- You can get Twilight Menu++ from the project’s github here
- Once Twilight menu is installed on your SD Card, all you need to do is to go to http://stylehax.net with the DSi’s browser
- The exploit is open source and can be downloaded here if you’d rather host it yourself

Does it come with full compatibility with the DSi rom set?
This has nothing to do with that, for that u use twilight menu ++ which is another thing entirely and it does indeed have compatibility with the Dsi library but for that it’s better to do a Sdnand cfw (great guide on dsi.cfw.guide ). There have been many exploits for years to be able to launch unsigned code and be able to install a cfw but this just adds another accessible and easy one to the list which is great
