Hacking a PS Vita with the HENlo exploit

A few days ago, hacker TheFloW released HENlo, an exploit chain for the PS Vita, compatible up to firmware 3.74 (the latest at the time of writing).
I initially stated that this release wouldn’t be super useful to end users, considering that we already have a way to install Custom Firmware on the latest Vita versions. But it was pointed out to me that this new exploit makes the whole process much easier compared to h-encore², as it doesn’t require to go through the Content Manager Assistant, or even have a PSN account (both of which are required with the current method). What’s more, everything can be done directly from the Vita, without going through a PC.
The current implementations of the hack are still in the “testing phase”, so we’re not updating our guide just yet, but it’s very likely HENlo will become the favorite way to run Henkaku (Vita Homebrew enabler) moving forward. And to be honest, these implementations seem to be running fine.
For those of you who want to hack their PS vita and are looking for a foolproof guide, I still recommend you follow to our Vita Custom Firmware guide, it remains valid, but we might update it ultimately to use HENlo instead of h-encore².
For those of you looking to test HENlo in order to install HENkaku on Firmware 3.74, two different implementations currently exist. In both cases, all you have to do is point your PS Vita browser to the corresponding url. That is, either:
SKGleba‘s implementation.
OR
Yoti‘s implementation.
Again, both these implementations are fully functional and will let you run HENkaku on your PS Vita, by selecting “install Henkaku” once the menu is displayed. From there, you can install Vitashell, (in SKGleba’s implementation, select VitaDeploy, then from VitaDeploy,s “app downloader” you can install Vitashell), then start installing essential applications.
Enjoy your newly hacked console!
I can hack my vita under 1 min from 3.74 to 3.65 enso…. So much easier thanks to skleba and theflow
You just upgraded the half-baked pie to a prime steak, but still everyone’s already full…
From the screenshot, it seems that this release does not include IMCUnlock. They should really add it, its not hard and will make life easier for fat owners without a memory card.
It actually does. IMCUnlock is part of VitaDeploy.
Well, this is revolutionary for a banned console I have sitting around.
Somehow it was banned, and as such, can’t log into PSN and add an account, so like this, it will be brought back to life 🙂
this is permanent hack? compatible with enso?
