Black Friday Deals are here!
Well, they’ve been here for a week already, and… they haven’t changed much! Well, some of the good deals are gone already, and that’s a bummer.
I was expecting Amazon to boost their Black Friday deals with some huge stuff today, but it seems we already know the bulk of what’s being discounted this year for gamers. Not that it’s bad in any shape, but the holiday deals seasons is now so diluted it doesn’t really feel like an event. Oh well…
Bottom line, if you’ve read my “early deals” article last week, you’ve got the general idea of deals here.

The Best Deals so far
Here’s a TL,DR:
- The best deal so far to me is the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB for $179.79, version with heatsink for $189.99. 2TB SSDs for the PS5 are getting into “reasonable” range, and the drive has never been that cheap. I doubt we’ll see a better deal on PS5 compatible SSDs this year
- PS+ at 25% off is a bit underwhelming to me, I still remember the day we could get it for $30 during sales. But if your subscription is running close to an end, I think it’s still good value.
- PS5 Controllers for $49 at Amazon. (also $49.99 on PlayStation direct). I don’t see those going lower than that in future sales.
- If you’re on the market for a new PC, AMD Ryzen CPUs are on sale, and that’s really good value.
And a few words of advice (probably obvious, but…):
- For similar prices, I recommend getting a physical edition over a digital one, in particular because you can resell it later on. Physical still has more value than digital nowadays
- Similarly, It’s a bit sad that Sony aren’t aggressively discounting PS4 games at this point. They cost the same as the PS5 version in most cases, so when you have the choice, go with the PS5 version.

A bit annoying that PS4 discounts basically put PS4 games as the same price as discounted PS5 games… but any PS4 deal under $10 is awesome at this point, time to snatch great games before the console’s end of life!

PlayStation have a black friday sale on the PSN, with games under $20, Deals on some of their best sellers, 25% off of PS Plus subscriptions (all tiers), and a sale on PS5 controllers. For all these sales, always remember to quickly check if your favorite retailer has the same accessory or game at a lower price. Amazon sometimes undercut PlayStation for some games.

I’m sorry folks, I really don’t follow the XBox world. The XBox S is getting a discount for the Holidays (Amazon page) but it’s already out of stock it seems. There might be more inventory in the days to come.
