PS5 Kernel exploit (Webkit version) update: 4.51 Firmware support added, stability significantly increased

With some contributions from folks on the PS5 R&D discord server, SpecterDev‘s implementation of the PS5 Kernel exploit (via the Webkit entry point) has received significant improvements today, in particular with 4.51 support and significantly improved stability of the exploit.
PS5 Kernel Exploit stability significantly improved
When we first reported on the Kernel exploit, SpecterDev mentionned a “30% success rate”, meaning you’d have to retry the exploit multiple times before getting it to succeed. At the time, lots of people reported having to run the exploit 10 times or more to get it to work.
Yesterday, SpecterDev committed several changes to the codebase (a large chunk of those seemingly came from Chendochap), with the goal of improving stability. The effects are apparently massive, with testers on the discord server reporting that the exploit runs “almost always correctly”, and Specterdev saying it’s probably 3 to 5 times more stable than the initial release in his own tests.
So, this is not your typical “I tried something and it might help in some rare occurrences”, but more a massive boost to the exploit’s stability that turns it into a “works pretty much all the time now” exploit.
But there’s more!
PS5 Kernel Exploit now supports 4.51 Firmware
DizzRL and Valincius have added code to the exploit as well.
DizzRL has brought 4.51 support to the exploit! (And at this point we can fairly confidently assume this is the highest firmware that this exploit can support).
Valincius has added a quality of life update that will load the “user’s manual” correctly independently of your console’s language (prior to that, if your console language wasn’t en-us, you’d have to manually alter a few files in the exploit to get it to load properly)
Download and run the exploit
You can get the latest files of the exploit on the project’s github here.
We recommend you run the exploit yourself locally for the time being (our tutorial here), given that you’ll want to tinker with the files yourself a lot if you’re willing to help progress.
holyyyyy smokessss am shedding to tears right now my prayers has been answered and my ps5 will now gasps some ray of light… thank you guys especially to the devs… i would to donate some of my cryptos to the one repsonsible for 4.51
You still can’t do anything with that exploit.
In peasant terms, what does this let me do?
Honestly not much at the moment. This is mostly for people who have the technical skills to help hack the console further.
Just like early PS4 days, in a few weeks..months can’t wait to see where this will progress. Don’t have a PS5 yet, but maybe by next year when I see where this is headed.
Too bad mine is on 5.02
Well, at least I’ll be able to play GoW without having to chose between gaming and hacking
Some news for ps4 9.03 jailbreak?
Yes throw you’re PS4 in thé trash and buy a ps5
Wasn’t 4.51 specifically made to patch out the exploit? If that’s the case, could that give newer firmwares hope?
