(Video) Downgrading PS Vita 3.74 using QA Flags, without the Modoru tool

Following QA Flags being snatched from Sony a few days ago, Scene veteran Zecoxao has shared a video showcasing what can be done on a retail console using these flags, in this case, a downgrade of a retail console.
Downgrading a PS Vita is technically possible for the scene using the Modoru tool, but this is an alternate method relying on Sony’s official QA Flags, which allow to bypass some security verifications, and therefore allow a downgrade.
In the video, Zecoxao demonstrates how he is easily allowed to install firmware 3.60 over the current 3.74 firmware, something that isn’t in general possible for a retail console, without hacking software. Additionally, the use of some simple DNS trick allows 1) the system to believe 3.60 is the “latest and greatest” firmware update found on official servers, and 2) a quick funny renaming of the firmware to add “Henkaku compatible” in its description 🙂
For all intents and purposes, the latest PS Vita firmware is already hackable, and there is no need for end users to play with these QA flags. Nonetheless, these show that internal tools used by PlayStation (and their QA teams) can be fairly powerful, since they allow to bypass some critical security measures of the console.

To what end?

Could the same thing be done with PS4?
Nothing confirmed, but there’s a chance to be possible.
Look like the scene devs still analyzing, but as I said, Nothing confirmed.
Does it work with PSTV as well?
Looks like the favelas are breeding hackers
