Youtuber got their hands on a PS5 Devkit, promises a full disassembly video

You might recall that time a PS5 Devkit was for sale on eBay before being pulled. In what is probably a worldwide first, folks at Macho Nacho Production have managed to get their hands on a PS5 Devkit, and are showcasing it on their channel. (video below)

PS5 Devkit Hardware – Lots of USB Ports, Integrated display, 2TB Drive
The first thing we notice is the “V” shape of the device, confirming what everyone’s been seeing so far about these elusive devkits. It’s interesting that Sony have designed something cool for partners and developer, in particular considering that for their former consoles, the devkits looked more like typical computers.

PS5 Devkit back
Youtuber Tito Perez notes that the model they have in hands (DFI-1000AA) doesn’t have a Blu-Ray drive, while the eBay pictures from last year had one. One has to wonder how many models of the PS5 Devkit exist.
As expected, to help with debugging, the PS5 devkit has more ports and features than your typical PS5, with a bunch of USB ports, as well as a tiny integrated display. The devkit also apparently ships with 2TB or storage space, more than the ~1 TB available on retail units.

Powering the devkit on
While powering the devkit on, we notice that the integrated display provides boot information.

To nobody’s surprise, the devkit isn’t activated, meaning it’s mostly useless. We can however gaze at the multiple devkit-specific icons in the menu, including of course the infamous Debug settings (which hackers such as TheFloW already have access to on retail units).

Macho Nacho has promised more videos to come on this devkit unit, including a full disassembly. In the meantime, you can admire the devkit more in the video below:
Who are they??? It’s a ONE YouTuber. He got a PS5 devkit, not they
I believe “They” is ok to use for a singular person when their gender is irrelevant to the context. But thanks for your concern 🙂
Let me guess. Your distain for the non binary demographic is stronger than your knowledge of the English language. The use of “their” here is completely fine.
@Megapoor17, To no one’s surprise, fact-checking yourself before posting a comment out of tribalism and own-group preference is inconceivable these days.
That display reminds me of my CPAP
project sandcastle ios .. is there an automatic installer for android or ubuntu ?

There was one for sale local to me about a year ago, but they wanted 3k or i would have probably bought it for the cool factor.

Hmm, good catch…wondering if they ran into legal trouble
