PS4: PS4 Player 1.07 release, by Lapy
PS4 scene developer Lapy has released PS4 Player 1.07. This new release (for Jailbroken PS4s) allows you to play files from anywhere mounted drive.
What is PS4 Player
PS4 Player is a Homebrew video player for Jailbroken PS4s. It supports MP4 and MOV files.
As to why so few formats are supported for now, Lapy has stated that being developed with Unity, this homebrew player has limitations in codecs/containers it supports.
PS4 Player 1.07 – what’s new
This new release brings the following:
- now you can escape to the root folder ‘/’ and play videos from /data, /usb0 or /usb1, or wherever…

What about local network mounted drive?
Massive! Definitely a step in the right direction of giving the PS4 more practical use. Hopefully something along the lines of Movian would get a drop and let x.265 play.
