PS4 Scene member Noob404 has released a PS4 port of Pop! OS, an Ubuntu based Linux distro. He also released a video showcasing the OS, as well as a bit of performance testing, with gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 through the Linux distribution.
PopOS 21.10 running on PS4, cyberpunk 2077 gameplay
Although the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay achieves up to 70fps in some low-activity scenes in windowed mode, be warned that it drops to a less-than-exciting 15fps in full screen. But it’s good proof that recent games do indeed run on the PS4 through Linux, and older, less demanding games will possibly have no problem.
Making your own Linux Distro for PS4
Noob404 has a website dedicated to running Linux on your PS4, which is frankly a nice addition to the scene. There he shared an article and a video series on how to package your Linux distro of choice for the PS4. The guide can be found here.
