PS4 9.00 Jailbreak: pOOBs4 updated with multiple fixes
Developer Chendochap has updated the PS4 9.00 Jailbreak with a lot of significant fixes, in a commit entitled “how did this ever work?” 😛
(My guess: the PS4 Jailbreak is being improved as more progress is being made on porting it to the PS5 and bugs are discovered in the process.)
Although the developer mentions he hasn’t extensively tested the changes, this new release should increase the success rate of an already very stable exploit for your PS4, so enjoy.
PS4 9.00 Jailbreak, what does this new release bring?
The latest commit in the pOOBs4 repository brings the following changes, according to the changelog:
- kill sysveri even more and leave no witnesses.
- fix a bug that somehow wasn’t breaking anything?
- fix a rop bug regarding sys-v stack alignment.
- provide more krop helper functions.
- provide a smaller img (0x1800 bytes, also very compressible). see [#29] [#31]
- add wk expl sanity check.
- make sure pages accessed by kernel are locked.
- try to reduce time spent with interrupts disabled.

To install and use, either hosts these files on your local server, or wait for your favorite external host to have the latest update, then follow our tutorial here. The image file to copy on your usb disk hasn’t been updated in the repository, so you don’t need to re-create your magic usb stick.

The usb image has been updated tho, the developer made an alternate version that’s much smaller and could be used in embedded systems or spi flash chips
