Nintendo have released System Update 12.1.0 for the Nintendo Switch, roughly a month after 12.0.3 was released.

SciresM has already stated that the Atmosphère Custom Firmware will require an update, so don’t jump the gun and wait if possible before updating your console (that is, if you have a hacked Switch, which is more and more difficult to get these days)

Nintendo Switch Firmware 12.1.0 – What’s new

For once, this update actually brings a “quality of life” new feature, for a very specific issue. According to the official changelog:

Added the following system functionality:

• If there is not enough space remaining on the system memory (internal storage) or microSD card when downloading game software update data, you can now delete old data for that software, enabling you to download the new data.
  • When deleting the old data, you won’t be able to play the game until the new data has finished downloading.

 

General system stability improvements have been made to enhance the user’s experience.

With that being said, once again, if you want to maintain your hacked Switch properly running, wait a bit until your favorite tools are updated, before installing 12.1.0
