To be honest, it’s become harder to be excited by Amazon Prime Day in recent years. But some decent deals can still be taken if you know where to look.

The event, which was originally an “out of the blue” surprise with incredible deals (I remember getting uncharted 4 at 75% off when the game had just come out) has progressively become cluttered with a sea of “meh” deals on random no-name electronics. This year is no difference, but there are a few noticeable deals for video game enthusiasts.

Let’s get to it:

First things first, get an Amazon Prime Free trial if you’re not Prime already

Get a Prime free trial if you’re not prime yet. It’s free for 30 days and you can cancel it afterwards.

• Worst case scenario: no good deal shows up and you can cancel the auto renewal of your subscription to have it automatically stop after the 30 days free trial.
• If you can’t get the prime free trial (if you already subscribed in the past, or for other reason), they have a 50% off discount on the subscription for students.

Hardware Deals

No PS5 in sight, as feared… however the Switch is getting a bit of love with some discounts. Also, probably my favorite deal is that Amazon Warehouse (refurbished items in good quality) are getting an extra 25% off. This can net you for example a PS5 controller for about $45.
