PS4/PS5 PlayStation Plus June Free games announced
PlayStation have announced the upcoming free games for PlayStation Plus users in June, confirming earlier leaks of the games names.
The games that PlayStation Plus users will be able to grab for free next months are Operation Tango for PS5, Star Wars Squadron and Virtua Fighter 5 for PS4.
Star Wars Squadron is probably the “main dish” of this month, if you haven’t reached Star Wars fatigue yet. The Electronic Arts game was released fairly recently (late 2020), and has, if not awesome reviews, praised PSVR integration. I’m personally super excited to try it out with my kids.
But we shouldn’t dismiss the other two games, which will be available for free to PS+ users on the month of their release!
Operation Tango looks like a very promising asymmetrical co-op game. Unfortunately, it will be pretty demanding, hardware wise: not only do you need a PS5 (the PS4 version is not part of the PS+ offering), but you need a friend who also has one. Which sounds like a statistical impossibility nowadays :P. Because of this, I’m worried this game, which is potentially very good, might see little to no gameplay. There doesn’t seem to be a split-screen option? But who has 2 PS5 controllers anyways.
Virtua Fighter 5… well let’s say the Virtua Fighter series is a staple in console gaming. Not particularly my cup of tea, but it’s sure to please a lot of folks!
