PSVita: Five Nights at Freddy’s gets ported by Kolbie5874 – Port based on the fan-made 3DS version
Recently, the PSVita received quite a few popular additions to its game library thanks to two GTA games dropping within days of each other. Now, yet another welcome addition has landed and it’s Five Nights at Freddy’s thanks to Kolbie5874.
What’s Five Nights at Freddy’s? What about the Vita port?

Thanks to FreDev and Kolbie5874, you can now play FNaF on your PSVita and maybe get a jump scare or two 😉
Five Nights at Freddy’s is a horror indie title set within a pizza restaurant that primarily has you switching between CCTV cameras to figure out what a bunch of creepy-looking animatronic animals are up to in different areas of the restaurant while trying not to get a jump scare. Originally released in 2014, the game managed to turn into a significant franchise with 6 main titles to date with releases on Windows, iOS, Android, the PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch together with some homebrew ports/clones.
Among the homebrew ports, one can find a pretty recent 3DS port by @FreDEV which is what the PlayStation Vita version is based upon. On the Vita’s side of things, the port was made by Kolbie5874 and received some specific tweaks/optimisations in order to provide an experience more tailored to the Vita’s hardware capabilities such as displaying the game on a single screen. From what is known about the port, it seems that it was dropped onto VitaDB as a VPK and there seems to be release information accompanying it neither is there a place where one can report issues should any arise.
Conclusion
Despite Five Night’s at Freddy not being a free title, you can get the PSVita’s port by downloading the VPK. There is no clear word on where assets within the game stem from but as of now, neither the Vita nor the 3DS ports received any legal notices so it’s assumed that the ports are safe to share for now.
