Vita & Switch: Metal Max Xeno English Translation released for the Vita & Fizeau (f.lux clone) 2.0 Beta released for the Switch with true color correction!
For quite some time, both the Nintendo Switch & Vita were seeing a good deal of activity in their homebrew scene but things slowed down a bit in the summer. However, that doesn’t mean that work wasn’t taking place behind the scenes and in this article, we’re going to look at an English translation for Metal Max Xeno on the Vita & Fizeau 2.0 Beta for the Switch!
Metal Max Xeno English Translation out for the Vita
It’s no secret that the Vita wasn’t as popular in the West as it was in Asia and this resulted in various titles being released in non-English languages for the console.
If you’re into RPGs, post-apocalyptic worlds and tanks then Metal Max Xeno may be an interesting title to try since it’s now been translated to English on the Vita!
However, the same titles are sometimes released with an English localisation on PlayStation 4 or PC as more success in the West is perceived for these consoles. As a result, this has prompted some modders, such as froid_san, to create various English translation patches for Japan-only Vita titles including Puyo Puyo Tetris and Catherine: Full Body.
Now, yet another title has joined the ranks of being translated to English by the community and this is Metal Max Xeno, the latest installment within the Metal Max series which started off with a 1991 game for the NES. This series of games, which falls within the RPG genre, comes with turn-based mechanics in a post-apocalyptic world with vehicles such as tanks also featuring. Moving over to its English translation, it was released by “Knofbath” on Reddit earlier today and it’s mostly complete with the following being translated:
- Main Menu
- Dialog
- Skills
- Items/Weapons/Equipment
- Monsters
- Area names
- Battle messages
- Help Library
Some stuff like the configuration menu, wanted monster popups and some interface buttons/images aren’t translated yet so some Japanese may still sneak in while you’re playing the game.
To get the English translation patch for Metal Max Xeno, simply follow this link to its Reddit thread which contains all download links and instructions. Both the Japanese and Korean/Chinese versions of the game are supported.

Moving over to the Nintendo Switch, the console received a beta release of Fizeau 2.0.0 which is an f.lux-like sysmodule to make the console’s screen easier on your eyes. With version 2.0.0, Fizeau received various changes including:
- The addition of a Tesla overlay to configure the plugin on the fly
