Switch News: Nintendo releases Firmware 10.0.1 with ‘stability improvements’ and Team Xecuter releases SX OS 2.9.5 Beta – Atmosphere and Hekate CTCaer Mod still working on this FW
Last week, Nintendo released Switch Firmware 10.0.0 with some significant features such as button remapping and the ability to move sotware between the NAND and microSD card. Now, they’ve released FW 10.0.1 and the changes are so minor that Atmosphere & Hekate still work; in this article, we’ll also be looking at the release of SX OS 2.9.5 Beta that comes with support for FW 10.0.0/1 and more.
Nintendo releases Switch Firmware 10.0.1 with a pretty thin changelog – Atmosphere & Hekate still working

Switch FW 10.0.1 has just been released although it’s minor enough not to have broken popular stuff like Atmosphere & Hekate CTCaer Mod!
With Firmware 10.0.0 having been released last week with some useful features, it’s not surprising that the following firmware update wouldn’t bring much to the table. Firmware 10.0.1 was released on Tuesday/Wednesday with a pretty compact one-liner changelog which states:
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience
In other words, this means that Firmware 10.0.1 comes with a few bug and security fixes at best with no additions to user-facing functionality therefore there isn’t much to be excited about apart from a new version number together with changes to a sysmodule.
As per SciresM, Atmosphere 0.11.1, which includes Firmware 10.0.0 compatibility, still works fine on this new firmware meaning you can safely update if you always want to be on the latest and great firmware. Hekate CTCaer Mod 5.1.4 is also being reported as working.
Team Xecuter releases SX OS 2.9.5 Beta

SX OS 2.9.5 Beta is out with support for FW 10.0.0/1, improvements to LAN play and support for Chinese Game Cartridge Backups
Despite all eyes being on Team Xecuter for their upcoming SX Core and SX Lite hacking solutions for currently unhackable Switch consoles, they’ve still managed to squeeze in an SX OS update in the 2.9.x series. This time, we have SX OS 2.9.5 Beta which comes with the following features:
- Support for Firmware 10.0.0 and 10.0.1
- Local Multiplayer over a LAN has been improved with better stability
- This helps some newer titles such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons behave better
- Support for Chinese (Tencent) Gamecart images
- This allows one to run Chinese Gamecart backups in SX OS
- Groundwork has also been made to allow playing non-Chinese games on Chinese Switches through SX Core and SX Lite

Conclusion
In other news, DosBox-Staging 0.75.0 RC1 has been released and SkyNX which is an In-Home-Switching alternative is out giving you another option to stream games from your PC to your Switch.

Kinda sad how people pay $30 for SX-OS then have to wait a whole week to get an update vs atmosphere which is free, released an update the same day. I still love SX-OS but they just need to speed things up a bit.
rather spend “$30” on a sx os pro kit than *** up my switch and have to by another one for the “expensive” price of $299 ($469 aud)
sx steals code from atmosphere, soooo… they have to wait for atmosphere, then they’ll merge to their messed fork.
lol, love how the *** mods deleted my previous post.
anyway, as I quoted: I would rather buy a $30 sx os pro dongle rather than *** up my switch and having to by a new one for the “expensive” price of $299 ($469 aud)
true sx steals code from atmosphere, and atmosphere steals code from Nintendo 🙂 i love sx os cuz of the xci loading works like a charm
don’t say that to dudeht or “James”
they’ll *** and complain about how atmosphere is a saintly group
