News: Google offers 2 months of Stadia Pro for free with 9 games due to the coronavirus situation – You can try out the alleged future of gaming without spending a cent!
When Google’s Stadia was released in mid-November, some hailed it as the future of gaming while others described it as a pretty painful experience. Now, a couple of months have passed and Google has finally released a free version of Stadia together with a 2 month trial of Stadia Pro!
Google Stadia’s free tier introduced with 2 months of Stadia Pro being given away for free
Up till Wednesday, the only way to make use of Google’s Stadia was by paying a $9.99/month subscription together with buying the games you actually wanted to play but now, that’s no longer the case.

Google’s Stadia had a pretty rocky start in November but now, you can try it for free and see how it goes even though bandwidth in badly coronavirus-hit may not be great
This is because Google has just introduced a free version of Stadia that’s free for everyone to use and the main differences between this and Stadia Pro are:
- A maximum of 1080p resolution rather than 4K although The Verge noted that Stadia’s 4K wasn’t exactly 4K back in November
- Stereo Sound rather 5.1 Surround Sound which will surely make a difference for some but if your audio equipment is pretty basic, it may not affect you much
Together with introducing a free version, Google also started offering a 2 month Stadia Pro trial which gives you the aforementioned benefits of Stadia together with 9 free games. According to a blog post linked below, Google is doing this in order to benefit those stuck at home due to the coronavirus situation as the service is available in some of the worst-hit countries like the USA, Spain and Italy.
A look at the 9 free games available with Stadia Pro & what’s needed to use it
As mentioned above, Stadia Pro comes with 9 free games, some of which are pretty decent, namely:
- Destiny 2: The Collection
- GRID (2019)
- Gylt
- SteamWorld Dig 2
- SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech
- Serious Sam Collection
- Spitlings
- Stacks on Stacks (on Stacks)
- Thumper
To use Stadia’s free tier and now Stadia Pro, you don’t need any special hardware because as long as you have a Google account and live in a country where the service is available, you can play wherever you want. This includes:
- Supported Android devices by using the Stadia application
- Any PC or laptop with Chrome provided you have an HID-compliant controller which you probably already own
- Chrome OS tablets and Pixel phones
Conclusion
Other than announcing a free trial for new users, Google also won’t be charging existing Stadia Pro subscribers for two months. You may learn more about what Google announced by following the link below. In other scenes, Joonie released a modded version of Rebug 4.86.1 LITE for broken PS3s with defects like a broken BD drive, BT/WiFi module or a corrupted VTRM hash (RSOD).

Sure, let me go over my monthly cap in 2 days by streaming video of a game, instead of downloading the actual game to play and render in infinitely higher fidelity on my own computer. The “future” of gaming, never looked so s**tty.
Why would you have a monthly cap in 2020 tho? Yes, streaming is the future of gaming. I have a high speed internet and the games look and run great. It is not the rest of the world’s fault that you are still on speed dial…
Gee, never heard that one before. You sure are visionary. That’s the least of the worries with this streaming garbage, but, go on, shove your head further up your own a**.
the reason being is not everyone can afford that what you own.You do youand we do us.Always remember that the world we live in is not equal to everyone but the things you take for granted is not free….nothing is free in this world, something got to give somewhere.

There are still some areas in the US where broadband has caps. Mostly in heavily populated cities. At least for crappy Xfinity that is the case.
because comcast and time-warner are companies
for someone with the username “Genius” you’re not too bright.
“I have a high speed internet, f**k everyone else if you can’t keep up.”
I suppose you’ll tell people to move to a better suburb if the internet is s**t despite the money situation that people have, right?
Try playing games that require actual execution and timing and say that again
In my country the service is available but not the games, Stadis Sucks
Either it took Google quite some time to find out people are quarantined OR they just came up with that story to push interest in their unloved service.

Does that fancy controller come free? If not, then forget it. Bad enough my Netflix lags don’t need to die from lag in a game.
Of course it does not come free you sign up and that is it you only get the controller if you pay for it lol.
But then again who is actually signing up to this rubbish frankly it needs to just hits its EOL and disappear like many other google projects.
This is one of the dumbest arguments I hear. “Stadia sucks because my internet has caps”… no Stadia is awesome, and your internet caps suck. And believe me, I am not blaming you for your bad internet. A lot of the USA is stuck with horrible internet plans. But Stadia works incredibly well. When playing with the controller and a Chromecast, it feels identical to a console. And I use it every day, along with my pc, consoles etc.
