PlayStation News: PlayStation won’t be present at PAX East and GDC due to coronavirus concerns
With there being over 74,000 cases of coronavirus in China and more than 2000 deaths, the virus, which is now being referred to as COVID-19, has disrupted manufacturing, flights, shipping and much more.
Obviously, the gaming industry has also been affected as it’s being expected that Nintendo will be facing shortages in Switch supply in Europe & North America this April despite them releasing a new Switch Lite colour and Team Xecuter’s SX Core and SX Lite hacking solutions may experience some delay before they start their testing phase.
Now, concern due to the coronavirus has affected Sony’s plans to be present at both PAX East & GDC which are still going to be held in the coming weeks with the former starting on February 27. Other than Sony, OculusVR/Facebook games have also announced their withdrawal from GDC over similar concerns. With this in mind, those who were going to attend PAX East for the PlayStation booths will be sorely disappointed as they’ve now lost their chance to play some upcoming titles including:
- The Last Of Us Part II
- Marvel’s Iron Man VR
- Nioh 2
- Doom Eternal
- Spelunky 2
