TheFlow releases MiniVitaTV and Adrenaline 6.7 – Dualshock 3/4 plugin for the Vita and Local multiplayer in PS1 titles!
Less than 24 hours ago, TheFlow tweeted out about his work regarding a DualShock 3/4 plugin for the PSVita and support for local multiplayer in PS1 games when running on the PSVita via Adrenaline. Apparently, for TheFlow ‘soon’ means less than 24 hours and low and behold, he’s released MiniVitaTV and Adrenaline 6.7!
What is MiniVitaTV?
MiniVitaTV is the plugin that TheFlow mentioned yesterday on Twitter. This plugin uses the DualShock 3/4 driver found in official PSTV firmware and as a result you can:
- Connect up to 4 DualShock 3/DualShock 4 controllers to your PSVita. You can use any configuration you want as DualShock 3 and 4 controllers can work together at the same time.
- Play games that support local multiplayer on your PSVita provided you have enough controllers! Examples of games that support local multiplayer on the PSTV (and now the PSVita thanks to this plugin) are Metal Slug 3, Badlands GOTY and Skullgirls: 2nd Encore
It must be noted that this plugin only supports official DualShock 3/4 controllers as of now so fakes won’t work. Furthermore, it has the following bugs which you should keep in mind when using it:
- PSVita buttons can’t be used when this plugin is in use
- If you press the DualShock 4’s touchpad when using Adrenaline, Adrenaline will crash.

As MiniVitaTV uses official PSTV drivers to do its job, you can use the stock settings app to pair up your DS4 controller!
MiniVitaTV comes in two kernel plugins and you must install both of them in the *KERNEL section in taiHEN’s config.txt. Pairing up your controllers is quite simple so you’ll get your DS3/DS4 working on your PSVita in no time if you follow the instructions linked below!
Adrenaline 6.7 released
Adrenaline is TheFlow’s famous ePSP hacks that turns your PSVita into a PSP on steroids thanks to screen filters, save states, the full XMB experience and much much more. In anticipation of the above plugin, TheFlow updated it to version 6.7 which brings about support for local multiplayer in PS1 games when using the PSVita! Obviously, to be able to use local multiplayer, you need to install the plugin on your PSVita and have at least 2 controllers connected.
This update isn’t very useful for PSTV users as the device supports local multiplayer in PlayStation 1 games out of the box. However, as network updating via XMB started working again with Adrenaline 6.6, you might as well install this update even if you don’t need the added feature.

With Adrenaline, you can now do PS1 local multiplayer on the go if you have controllers on you that is!

Great to hear, but a question.
Is it possible to update adrenaline in adrenaline?? Or do i have to install new updates through new vpk’s?
If your on 6.6 them yeah otherwise no
You can use Adrenaline’s Network Update feature, it’s just like updating an actual PSP.
Any issues playing single player PSOne games with this plugin and a PS3/4 controller? I 3D printed a grip for the Vita but using a controller is something I prefer.
Awesome update! I’ve been waiting for this for a very long time!
and now PLEASE PLEASE picture on a monitor via USB without lag or quality loss and no need for wireless streaming, that would be great!
I quite didn’t get what Minivitatv does. For instance, Dragon crown has adhoc multiplayer( I guess that’s a local multiplay). We used to need two consoles and two copies of the game to play multiplayer. Does Minivitatv makes one vita able to provide multiplayer function despite absence of another vita or pstv? So basically no need to have multiple vitas to couch multiplay?
I think its meant for PS1 titles which was created and design to have extra controllers for local multiplayer. There is no way a PS Vita and PSP game designed with a single player per device in mind going to magically support multiple players in a single device without changing its program code or logic.
no, it just makes it so games think the vita is a pstv
some vita games had local multiplayer that could only be accessed by having a pstv and multiple controllers, this allows those to work correctly even though it’s a vita and not a tv
Nice
How about WLAN coop? back in the days we could enjoy arcade emulator coop on 2 PSPs

No idea what I’ve done wrong here but I’ve followed the instructions, rebooted and no physical buttons but now can’t pair the controllers either so I can’t use anything. To top it off I can’t even connect to my pc via vita shell because I need to press select to do so :/.
Any help?
I don’t know what I did wrong but I can’t pair any controller and now have no vita buttons. I followed the instructions. I’m on enso 3.60. Tai folder is in ur0.
Link on minivita tv is broken
Why do all my comments not visible?
Download games crashes with this plug-in.
Using this plugin I can’t use the ds4 touchpad at all, I don’t know if it is an error or minivitatv simply doesn’t have this feature yet, anyone with the same issue?
