PS4: Qwertyoruiop confirms 5.00 Jailbreak (not a release)
It was only a matter of time as he had confirmed he had both a usermode entry point and a working kernel exploit: Yesterday, Hacker Qwertyoruiop stated on twitter he has kernel access on the latest PS4 firmware.
PS4 5.00 Jailbreak when?
It is unknown if the hacker has plans to release his exploit. He had told me directly in the past that he would release it if he ever had another combination of user + kernel exploit. This makes sense: keep one for himself in order to investigate future firmwares, and give one away for the scene.
If I’m counting correctly, so far Qwertyoruiop has 1 usermode exploit + 1 fully weaponized kernel exploit (the one mentioned here), as well as one additional kernel bug he mentioned a few days ago. We’re still missing a few things: another usermode entry point, and confirmation that the second kernel bug can actually be exploited.
In other words, we’re still pretty far from meeting the conditions under which Qwertyoruiop has said he would release anything. And that’s assuming he sticks to his word, which he has no obligation to do.
I’ve seen a lot of criticism of PS4 hackers in general and Qwertyoruiop in particular for their attitude of “not releasing anything” for the PS4. Although I do understand (and share) the frustrations of the community for not seeing any release coming our way, while a significant amount of hackers claim they have kernel access on the console, I think this is a good reminder for us that hackers don’t owe the community anything. People should also keep in mind that hackers usually have very good reasons not to release their work (whether we feel they brag too much about it is another point entirely), and it’s worth remembering that Qwertyoruiop has released lots of his work in the past, even if that might not be obvious to everyone. He was in particular a contributor to CTurt’s work in the 1.76 kernel exploits, and released a webkit exploit for firmware 4.0x.
It is also a good time to remind people that hacking consoles is not magic. It’s mostly the result of time, perseverance, and technical skills, which arguably anybody can acquire. Anyone with a PS4 running firmware 4.07 or below can run a public webkit exploit (released by Qwerty himself, as mentioned above) and start looking for kernel vulnerabilities. Not everyone has the skills to find a kernel exploit on a console, but certainly those who do not even look into how it’s done, will never find one.

To be fair you can get sued into oblivion for hacking consoles. Just get a PC if you want an open ended gaming experience that let’s you do what you want.
well if he is scared to release there are tools like TOR to do it safely – also you have no idea what PS3 CFW meant except game backups
Lol Jesus just *** already
Apparently Qwertyoruiop has handed over the kexploit 1.0 to dark_cruz etal.
New on wire is saying there’ll be a release and demo this weekend.
Qwertyoruiop will take no responsibility for future work on kexplot 1.0. I guess he doesn’t want $ony to come after him.
Anyways, expect a homebrew demo for 4.70 in the next days/hrs.
Where are you reading that? I don’t see it mentioned anywhere else.
Most people are ungrateful and don’t deserve a hacked ps4, they don’t even appreciate how much work goes into it.
Qwerty find an exploit on 4.06, he was lucky to find it, you don’t need advanced technical skills for that. Also, his IOS jailbreak is a teamwork released by qwerty, he didn’t release anything after that, so it doesn’t mean everything he tweet is right. **DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PS4**
Why give these people attention?
As far as I’m concerned, if we can’t replicate your work, then you’re just a windbag blowing hot air around. Good for you and your claims about all the magic you’re doing behind closed doors. Good for you. Go have fun by yourself and quit pestering people with all your supposed accomplishments.
*** or get off the pot.
Hackers don’t owe the community anything, but the community doesn’t owe hackers anything either. Wololo, you don’t owe these people attention and you shouldn’t be encouraging this behavior. They haven’t any attention unless they actually put their accomplishments forward. For all you know they’re lying. Past accomplishments don’t boost their credibility when they go around saying that they have ‘super duper top secret hacking methods and I could totally show you but I don’t wanna.’
While you’re busy publishing unverifiable claims, I hacked the PS4. Version 6.00
I could totally tell you how but nah.
Please make sure you praise how l33t I am.
pioneiro
Well I’ve officially turned off automatic updates on my PS4 then.
you morons know that itcould be a fake, he could’ve made some HTML codes then placed a PS4 and shouted “H4x0rs!!!!!!” and if it is real it doesn’t matter since it is private and cannot be proven real since he doesn’t release anything.
wololo should stop posting news about “devs” with no real contributions to the scene and just known to claim exploits on a console. heck even I could do that(no release from me of course)
As explained in the article, Qwertyoruiop has a great track record on PS4 as well as iPhone, there’s no reason to believe he would fake it.
lol no release will be made anyway
he has not released ***
Though kernel exploit for consoles up to 4.06 (afaik) was just publicly released by fail0verflow. If link below doesn’t work click my name.

Qwertyoruiop is a very talented man. In the iOS scene, he made a Jailbreak for iOS 10.2 (iPhone 5s+, except iPhone 7) and iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak (iPhone 7). No one thought it was possible knowing Apple are fast to fix exploits on their OS. After he released those Jailbreaks, people kept spamming him for Jailbreak support for the new iOS version (still to this day), which made him stop releasing Jailbreaks to the public. He moved to PS hacking, which he seems to be doing really well with it. Who knows, he might release his Jailbreak for the PS4. Just. Don’t. Spam. Him. Let him release it when he wants to, not when you want it.
Well that’s how it is, Qwerty is basically dangling a piñata with lots of candies in it and he’s dangling it really high where the kids can’t reach it and these kids really really want those candies, like right now lol!
I’m somehow missing those days when wololo’s blog wasn’t that much exposed to all that childish behavior happening nowadays in the comment section…
A private board to discuss things with a public read-only blog might be something to look into.
All those dudes still flaming on an article implicitly explaining to stop the toxic behavior…
so no relase for any jelibreak 🙁
I’d really like to look into finding vulnerabilities and exploits, but first, there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of information out there on where to get started, or what to do, or how to find them, etc. also I don’t really have a whole lot of spare time to be looking into it, plus it’s really boring, I know it’s really worth it and rewards well, but damn is it boring.
Lol Qwertyoruiop Who believes anything this *** says? Get a brain if you believe the BS this *** spews
f@ck off Qwertyoruiop
Im always surprised by how much we feel the need to defend people who choose to announce something, but also say they won’t publicly release anything.
First, and foremost you cannot confirm the existence of something without peer review. A screenshot of something that very clearly could be recreated in notepad is hardly confirmation. I don’t care how credible you are, it’s not evidence.
Second, and probably most importantly. You are not obligated to share what you know, but you are not obligated to mention you have anything at all. There is no scenario where the decent thing to do is gloat about what you know but refuse to tell people what that is. It’s the literal equivalent of going around and saying “I know something you don’t know” like a school girl. Stop defending people who need attention, but don’t do anything to actually deserve it.
You don’t actually deserve it until you are willing to provide the evidence that others can look at and adequately test and confirm/dispute. That is what a civil community should expect and nothing less.
fully agree.
exactly
gnaaaaarf !
S.T.U.P.I.D..thats what he is..stop bragging about your hacks then..
