The PSVita has quite a few mini-games that you could play to pass some time and now, there’s another flavour of time-wasting games! Thanks to reddit user “Jakiepooh”, the PSVita now has a port of Hangman which was ported over from the 3DS.

What’s Vita Hangman?

Vita Hangman, as its name suggests, is a hangman game for the PSVita. After looking through the source code, it seems that this port is an improved version of Rinnegatamante’s 3DSHangman.

Inserting your own words

The UI is pretty sleek and the title screen can be controlled by either the touchscreen or the d-pad however in game only d-pad input is accepted. You may also press the circle button if you think you know the solution while some spaces are still empty.

Killing the hangman!

In the game, you have to guess the correct word before you do enough incorrect guesses to kill the hangman. If you want, you can also add words to its database. This game is written in Lua and is interpreted through Lua Player Plus (ported to the Vita by Rinnegatamante) so you can easily fiddle around with the code if you wish to change something. Overall, I would say that this game is a great way to waste a few minutes on the go.

How do I get it?

To get this homebrew game, you need to install the VPK from the link below and install it via VitaShell. If you had the first version of the VPK, you should install version 1.1 as the original version didn’t work but only returned an error upon opening it from LiveArea.
