Pre-order your SD2Vita (game cart to microSD) adapter right now via Reddit!

I'm a girl that's liked technology from day 1. Mostly interested in the PSVita/PSP scene but I've always modded my stuff when it's possible, that is :) Contact me via DM at @KawaiiAuroraA on Twitter if you have any questions/concerns about my articles or if you have any article requests.

The Chinese factories are probably gearing up productions on these as we speak.

    • mixedfish says:

I’d much rather wait for the Chinese clones and derivatives.

      • Ukl says:

just the same, waiting big productions to come. Still have plenty of stuff to play on 3DS & PS4 🙂

I have a question. whats the memory cap on the adapter or if its the system then what would be the cap for the system? I want to get a 256gb sd card for the vita

    • Jack Attack says:

The adapter is a simple pin adapter. No chips. No controller. Just a microsd slot attached to a board. Software does the rest. The youtube video showed him using a 128GB microsd XC card so I imagine you should be able to go up to 256GB just fine on the vita’s hardware side of things, if not even higher with, at worst, only needing to patch things via software.

      • Jay.FFVII says:

Thank you for the response. This is probably the most godlike thing to happen to the vita, plus enso is coming at the end of the month. Im so stoked for this bro. Finally being able to have a great memory capacity on vita. I got a 8 gig and its not even enough

    This is awesome!!

  5. mvp33 says:

I wonder if you can transfer from Sony card or have to format and start over?

    • Ethan Weegee says:

This goes in the GAME CARD slot, hence the text; “game cart to microSD”

      • mvp33 says:

I understand that. What I don’t understand is if the extra storage combines with or replaces the existing storage (like USB on PSTV) and if the later, can we easily transfer everything (already installed) to the new SD card.

  6. Ricky D says:

Why isn’t everybody just waiting for these to appear on a modchip reseller’s web site? Sending money to random people on reddit doesn’t seem like such a good idea.

  7. Ukl says:

Theres 0 reason to buy it now. Many other people / chinese / popular website you can trust 100% will produce this later. Of course 10/20$ is not much but you don’t know anything about it now: Is it going to work ? lifespan ? you don’t know.

    • Ethan Weegee says:

Of course it works. There are videos proving it.

    • Sky Yuki says:

      Now that you mention it
I might as well just wait for china made or someone who live closer to me in Asia

  8. squeueue says:

Will this works on pstv too?

    • Sam says:

    • nebu_187 says:

use a hdd for PSTV. Much cheaper much more capacity (Up to 2,2 TB)

    • nightwishfan1 says:

Lol. You don’t even need this on pstv. Just the latest version of vita shell and get any usb drive you want to use, then plug into the pstv’s usb slot.

Though as noted it would work on pstv. Just not very practical, for it as this was made for the vita handheld which has no sd slot access for usb drives.

Guys for anyone wondering this would be super easy to build yourself if you have even a little soldering experience. One order of three boards is $5.35 and you can buy a couple of those micro sd ports for a few cents each. Then just solder 8 pins and 3 supports, plug in, boom you have your own made.

  10. Ethan Weegee says:

But the only homebrew that supports this right now is VitaShell and maybe RetroArch.

  11. Wotttt says:

The following phrase (extracteed from the article) is utter gibberish (after “notifying you”):

“you’ll get an e-mail notifying you when you can do you can place your final order”

    • Aurora says:

I’m sorry, it should be “You’ll get an e-mail notifying you when you can place your final order”

  12. inf says:

Hi Aurora, it’s nice to have a female mind around here – long time user here from the early PSP days. Hoping the activity ramps up until we have another busy PSP like scene again.

    • Aurora says:

Cheers! Yeah, I hope that the momentum keeps on going. I’m doing everything within my power to best support the scene and that mostly consists of writing articles!

  16. jackjason says:

Has anyone already received an answer, after filling the form?

  17. Alex says:

Is there any indication about the maximum transfer speed the device is able to achieve? Is it worth getting a top class SDCard, or the transfer speed will be limited by the device?
