PSVita port of the Higurashi: When They Cry series games released
The PSVita has quite a decent library of anime-esque games and when they’re not available, someone ports them over! This time,the Higurashi: When They Cry series has been ported over to the Vita.
What’s Higurashi: When They Cry?
This is a game series that has 5 chapters available on Steam. The game is in a form of a visual novel and the series originated on the PC. Higurashi: When They Cry also inspired an anime called “When they cry” because of its success. Thanks to /wololo talk user and developer “MyLegGuy”, we may now enjoy the game on our Vita. The port is a port of the Steam version of the game series and only works for chapters 1-4 AND the developer will ignore any questions relating to Chapter 5. The port also supports the updated Steam graphics and the PS3 Graphics & Voices patch for the game series.

How do I install the port on my Vita?
Obviously, you must own the Steam version of the games! As mentioned, only chapters 1-4 work as of right now. You must convert the game assets (scripts and images) to get the game to work and then install the VPK. The /wololo talk thread linked below provides detailed and even a video on how to get the port on your Vita. It’s recommended you read it properly as it’s a little long. After you convert the assets, copy them to “ux0:data/HIGURASHI/StreamingAssets/” and install the Higurashi-Vita VPK linked below. Without any doubt, you need a Vita/PSTV on 3.60 and a computer running Windows, OS X or Linux (OS X/Linux will require a tad of extra work since you must install Mono to work with them).

He’s referencing how Aurora was previously known as The_Zett, who is a guy. You can clearly see that Aurora claims to be a girl. It’s a very dishonest thing The_Zett is doing if they are indeed the same person, but we don’t know if he is actually a transgender person now or not.

one time i tried watching the anime.
i only made it through 4 episodes.
its so disturbing i couldn’t continue watching on.
While the anime was very good VN was not that good IMHO. It is difficult to like the characters when drawings are so abysmal compared to anime.
