Henkaku Release 10 out – Start taiHEN without a memory card on Fat Vitas(1k)!
While Team molecule is working on HENkaku Ensō, they couldn’t resist to release another taiHEN update. This update, R10 may be one of the last revision of normal taiHEN that you have to reapply evey boot as HENkaku Ensō testing has been going on for a while now. If everything goes well, we’ll stop reapplying taiHEN on July 29th 😉
What’s taiHEN?
By now, everyone should have a clue. It lets you run homebrew, plugins and a whole slew of other things on your Vita. One of the most popular stuff you can do with is run Adrenaline which is an ePSP hack that lets you use your Vita as a PSP. There is also a good variety of homebrew games and plugins such as one that lets you dim your Vita’s screen further. You may check out the wide variety of plugins by sifting through articles on Wololo (or by checking out the plugins section in VitaDB). It only works on Firmware 3.60 (nothing HIGHER OR LOWER)
What’s changed/ got updated in Henkaku Release 10?
This is what changed in Henkaku release 10 (R10):
- taiHEN files have been moved to ur0:/tai. This means that HENkaku/taiHEN will now be present in your Vita’s memory. This will not only reduce space taken by taiHEN on your memory card (especially for 4GB card users) but will let you use taiHEN without a memory card installed in a Vita 1000 (Fat)
- You can now load your plugins from ur0:/tai but ux0:/tai may still be used
- If you have removed MolecularShell manually, it won’t be reinstalled when you reapply taiHEN
- HENkaku Ensō users must redownload and reinstall to set the new path (i.e ur0:/tai)
Conclusion
As you can see, this is an incremental update to taiHEN. This is a merely a step before Henkaku Ensō is released. Make sure you update Offline Installer via the e-mail app to get the latest update.

Neat!
as a member who participated in the beta, i cant wait till an official release is out. everything that i had tested has worked like a charm!
I continually sport PSTV wood.
Username checks out.
Perfect
Update to let people know exactly what changed. Anyone with Enso if you do not reset the configuration the Tai config.txt file is moved. I kept getting not compatible firmware on adrenaline installer the way i fixed it. I copied the Tai config from Ur0 an pasted to Ux0/Tai it is al fixed Enso works with no problem. I used switchkaku 1.06 to reinstall the Tai. =D
Is enso working well for you? What model are you using?
I cannot speak for him, however I have a Vita 1st Gen, 3G OLED Model, and everything has been flawless.
Anyone see this https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ps-vita-3g-to-microsd-card-adapter#/
Nice. Wololo said that at release it will not be cheap, like those sd adaptators for the psp. But hopefully they can produce it in a bigger scale, so it will be relatively cheap.
It’ll never be relatively cheap even if it could technically be so. The PSP sold 82 million. The Vita 4 million.
So, yeah. Also with that adapter it gets worse (but better me) since it needs you to have the 3G version. An even smaller market.
I’ll probably get one if it works well and can basically be any size that fits a microsd form factor. (hardware-wise it can, we’ll see about software and vita limitations)
It likely won’t be cheap.
can anyone tell me how to move game from external memory to internal memory of ps vita?
Tonobo before you thank wololo for HOSTING this article, as you forget every single time, make sure to give credit to Aurora for taking the time to WRITE the article.
Dodging the present minefield above, that’s really awesome news! Looking forward to the rest!!
Dont update to Henkaku 10 it screws up Enso
Is enso working well for you? What model are you using? (Sorry if this double posted)
I am using a vita 2001. Enso was working great until Henkaku 10 changes the Tai directory which disables Enso. Henkaku 10 conflicts with Enso every time I would reconfigure The Ux0/Tai by copying it from Ur0/Tai. The problem is Henkaku 10 keeps moving Taisprx. So what the result is unsafe mode is disabled on Vitashell. Every time you install Enso it will not work unless you copy the tai config file to Ux0 from Ur0. I have reinstalled it 5 times it does not work is their any way to install Henkaku 9. 10 is not good for Enso users.
Does enso work well otherwise? What model are you using it with?
This is a question more relevant to Henkaku Enso, but do you think a permanent hack will fix the problem with newer game cartridges not being playable without an update? It is becoming a real problem with all the new games coming out on our, “dead handheld”
Thank you for the article, Aurora. Looking forward to future updates.
Hold your horse right there kid! Many people would love to see you dissapear. From now on there will be no comments from without my approval.
ive got 3.60 recently..never had molecularshell before..how to get the molecularshell?
Install Henkaku then open molecule and install 1.61 Vitashell. Vitashell enables USB to PC. To transfer your files to your vita.
someone pls help port GTA San Andreas to psvita
You better be willing to give money for that. What you are asking will take a lot of time and effort for someone out of hobby. Not to mention the legal issues since the game is not considered abandonware yet.
Are you willing to give money for that? Because no one is willing to go to through that large amount of time and effort and not to mention the legal issues he/she may have to incur from Rockstar Studios for nothing.
Might as well just send the request message to Rockstar to port it to Vita, but the chance for that to happen is pretty much zero.
Hope this update won’t have brick problems.
^this kid lol
It appears that this update broke the offline installers
