Screenie – HD screenshot plugin for the PSVita
Yes, the screenshot function is built into the PSVita BUT that doesn’t mean it’s not crippled. JPEG compression and the inability to take screenshots in certain games are amongst the biggest gripes about the PSVita’s screenshot function. Thanks to ‘Screenie’ by nobody other than ‘Rinnegatamante’, those issues should be fixed!
What’s Screenie?
As the name suggests, it’s a plugin that allows you to take much better screenshots. It’s a taiHEN plugin that lets you take a screenshot whenever you wish, without compressing it or adding any silly watermarks. These mods to the ability to take screenshots should hopefully improve the screenshot taking experience for you. Taking screnshots is a tad different this time around tho. You have to press ‘L+R+SELECT’ to take a screenshot; is it me or are all these plugins making the Vita’s control scheme feel cramped? This plugin also uses Rinnegatamante’s new I/O plugin called kuio that he hopes will become more widely used by Vita plugin developers. Screenshots are saved in ux0:/data/Screenie
How do I get it?
After downloading it, you need to install kuio.skrpx in the KERNEL section in taiHEN’s ‘config.txt’ and Screenie.suprx in the ALL section. You must install both plugins to get this plugin up and running. It’s quite simple as you can see! An ideal destination where you can put the plugins is ux0:/tai/plugins (create the plugins folder) so that you have your taiHEN plugins in a seperate destination away from normal HENkaku plugins like Better Amphetamin. This button combination won’t do, because it’s registered as input by the game. Is it possible to change it to PS button + SELECT, assuming it isn’t possible to simply override the default screenshot function?

I can’t seem to make it work.. I put both the .skprx files in ux0:/tai/ and edited the config.txt inside it.. It’s not working, where did I go wrong?
