Starfield Vita – GekiHEN entry
The GekiHEN contest website (http://gekihen.customprotocol.com/en/) is finally back up and a new release is out. The GekiHEN website had some issues with hosting so that’s why it was down.
What’s this game?
This game is quite a simplistic game written in Lua, but as we all know, the simplest of games are sometimes those that we like playing the most. In this game, you have to dodge stars which might seem pretty boring at first but it gets pretty challenging when you actually play it. “gnmmarechal” who is the developer stated that the game is not yet finished as he plans to add new features to it. Currently, there are no levels so it’s an endless game.
How do you play it?
Quite simple actually! Simply install the VPK file on your PSVita via VitaShell. The controls are also pretty simple as you can move the ship (or 2 pixels) with the d-pad or the left analogue stick. When a future update is released, you will also be able to shoot by using the “X” button on your Vita.
Conclusion
Starfield Vita is one of the few original PSVita homebrew games (the only other one is BERNARD CHRONICLES (TETRIS ATTACK) on GekiHEN) as most other homebrew games are ports of other software. Simple games are a great idea as they can be played on the go when you don’t have much time at your disposal!
Make sure to grab your copy from the following link (don’t trust VPKs from all sources): http://gekihen.customprotocol.com/en/project/Starfield-Vita
P.S: The developer wishes that you send him any feature requests or suggestions in order to make their homebrew game even better 🙂 Follow directions on how to do it on his GekiHEN entry page.
No.
You’re have heard about the game “Alone Balloon” for android? It’s really hard game, i’m could collect only 15 scores, it’s really cool 🙂
