JellyCar updated to version 1.5 (PSVita)
JellyCar, one of the earliest HENkaku homebrew on the PSVita has finally, to the enjoyment of its fans, been updated to version 1.5 (it’s old enough that it’s on the henkaku.xyz page as a showcase item). The update is quite welcome since PSVita releases have been quite scattered in these last few months but there’s always something to play around with until something else comes along so without more chit chat, let’s get into the meat of the actual update.
What’s JellyCar?
JellyCar is a homebrew game port (adapted from an Xbox Live Indie game by developer Walaber) ported by “drakon” (Marcin Ploska), who also created LameCraft for the PSP, to various consoles that can run homebrew such as the PSP, Wii and the PSVita (It’s also available officialy on Xbox 360 and iOS). JellyCar is a physics game in which you drive a car from start to end, simple, right? Well, once you play it, you’ll realise that it’s more than a straightforward racer thanks to crazy effects and the fluid Physics engine that ought to get you more engaged into the game just see what could happen with your ‘jelly’ car.
What’s in the update?
The update, which was released earlier today, contains the following improvements/changes:
- Additional 30 levels
- Changed menus
- Rebinding keys
- Sound options
- Sticky tire and balloon
- Bug fixing and optimizations
All of these will of course make the gameplay more enjoyable, such as being able to rebind controls, and the fact that there are 30 additional levels makes the game quite longer and that means that the player can have more fun messing around with the wacky physics that games of this nature have. On an concluding note, there are always the classic “bug fixes” which should make the gameplay less buggy. You may download the game from the following link:
